Hi, cool to see people here interested in 3D! biggrin.gif

Here's some of the stuff I made with Google Sketchup, a very simple and nice (and most importantly, FREE lol) 3D modelling program.

Its alot more intuitive than 3DS Max, but for advanced modelling tools and capabilities of course Max still wins. Perfect for beginners to get familiar with working in 3D though. wink.gif

I know in 3D Studio Max (6 upwards, IIRC) there is a material which you can apply on models to get the same effect, which is called Ink n' Paint.

Not sure about Maya cause I never used it before, maybe the newer version have a similar material type.

Sketchup is NOT free.

The normal version is free, which is what i'm using. The Pro version is the one that you have to pay for.

For people who just want to do 3D for fun, the free version is good enough. tongue.gif

Furthermore, you can download other people's work that they submitted to the Google 3D Warehouse.

Fireworks tutorial

Basics should still be the same, you can make prettier fireworks via the texturing.

Good luck & have fun. smile.gif
