I want to learn how to critique 3d animation What do you think about this work? LinkI heard he's was one of the best presentation at the MMU presentation day (no, I'm not from MMU). I heard Moon FX gave him alot of credit Anyway I kinda like the story and direction. Not so sure about the animation.

QUOTE(obefiend @ Sep 3 2008, 06:07 PM) how can you not know how to use the software? did you go to class at all. holy hell.. yes me talking like an old man. hahha. no way one can teach another on the web. but having said that here is a link. go and read it, its pretty good http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/j...rc/joanmenu.aspYou would be suprised. Here is my first proper model. I did it based on a video tutorial. Design was theirs but I added some changes to the detail. Nearly alot of things didn't go too smoothly and I had to troubleshoot alot of things myself but I learnt alot in the end Done with Maya and Mental Ray This post has been edited by mysticaldodo: Oct 2 2008, 08:29 PM

Do you guys know how to sculpt (as in clay sculpting) or have a basic feel for anatomy before using any digital sculpting programs?

In Mudbox (I've only tried Version 2009 and the previous version before that), you can sculpt it in 3D.

Just to update everyone, Mudbox 2009 has already released their service pack 1.
I don't know if ZBrush is better then Mudbox (e.g. depends on the user requirement) but I am guessing it has a larger user base.

QUOTE(fuzagi @ Jul 12 2009, 08:54 AM) hey clive. im always wanting to be a fulltime freelancer, but i can hardly get jobs. maybe my circle is too small n no connections. perhaps u could help me out? like passing me some jobs on the way? btw, did u get bad experiences getting payment from clients? There are some postings about this one of the pinned threads "Top 10 Lies told to..." I think this type of discussion deserves to be in a thread of its own. Don't let it get buried in this big thread
