This is 1 of my final year projects when i was studying(few years back)...Model with Rhino 3.0 and render using flamingo 1.1 ...currently trying Rhino 4.0 vray....hehehe...

took me 4 days to model this concept truck....rendering time was 2 -3 hours i think...coz last time my rig really sucks...

Damn.. The cars are good. The trucks are good. damn you are good. How long have u used rhino?? Hey bro.. any website where i can learn rhino especially in transport design?? Anyway,, new project is on the way, stay tuned.

Added on May 29, 2008, 11:34 pmIts me again. I wonder.. ive been using 8800gt card and its better than 8500gt card. But still, when i reach a certain level, more lag apear to happen. Sometime, i have to wait for about half an hour or even one hour to get my project rendered completely. If i add another 8800gt card in SLI mode, will it give a big effect?? Right now, i cant afford Quadros. Still in the mood of gaming though.

These are my current specs
Athlon X2 6400 3.2 Gb
4 Gb 800mhz ram( 1gb x 4 corsair XMS2)
8800GT graphic card
250gb HDD

Im also interior designer.. now doing fulltime 3d visualing for interior firms.

Somehow that is my skill right now...and I have been used by few company i work with in visualising because that is my strength.... The bad thing is... I lost experience in other aspect of Interior Design.

I might become really 3d visualizer depends on how my current career develops in the next few months.
I have a question about software+ hardware that might need you guys to help me. You guys sure will have better understanding of the software u r using.

I just bought a new machine:
Quad core2dua Q6600
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L motherboard
2gb ram (upgrade to 4gb later)
GT 8800 512mb.

I have not install any Windows yet for it.. my question is shall I use windows vista 32 bit or 64bit. because 3dsmax9 can support 64bit and im not sure will this perform better than 32bit. And will there be any problem for software running at 32bit to run in Vista 64bit
? rclxub.gif

Help help... i hv to quickly set up my new machine to start working... unsure.gif (and then GAMING!~)
*
Hello there. In my opinion, 64bit might be a lilbit slower but from the specs that u gave, ill think it will run smooth. From my walk of life, 64 bit have more to offer especially in graphic. For instance, ive tried crysis on 32 bit and it cannot give the full quality while on 64bit, highest quality is allowed. I think maybe that might tell us something bout 32 n 64 bit. AYE???

Hello, its been a while since.... just have something playing with my mind tat i think i need an opinion with you guys.
1. In rendering, which one comes first, the processor or the graphic card.
2. :let say that i change my vga from nvidia geforce 512mb to quadro 64 mb which both prices the same, will it increase my 3d rendering performance??

Added on May 9, 2009, 9:50 amJust would like to know, anyone here from IDE uitm??

Bigger resolution

This architectural rendering piece was done for an architectural firm. the purpose of this piece is for the architect to show the client how the interior would look like when its completed. The work is copyrighted under the name of the company i'm working at, ARC-Degrees Creative House. this piece was done by using 3DsMax with Vray. only minor touch-ups in photoshop like the contrast leveling. so, basically every lighting effect u see here was finalized in 3DsMax.

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask..(obviously nope)..
I am new with 3D and I have a few things to ask to any otai2 here..

Which application is best to use for Interior Design and to create model like human, furniture and etc?..
Please suggest me standard spec..C2D 2GB RAM with standard integrated intel graphic is ok or not?..
Lastly, anyone know any website that can help me learn 3D?..
*
Multiple cores processor would do. go for x4, phenomII is cheap.. Best if u can add a graphic card.. if u serious in 3d, go for workstation graphic card like Quadro or Firepro...

4 me, the best website to learn not just 3d but anything is youtube.. thats where i gain my knowledge.. U can also download tutorial pdf from the internet..

Good Luck!! thumbup.gif

definately processor play the role of rendering...
but since last time til now, technology does improve a lot. now graphic card can helps in rendering too. but i dont know how to set to make it render or perhaps it was preset and will auto help rendering. im not sure.
as i know graphic card are mainly use for real time display and poly count thingy.

btw wat is IDE? hmm???

Thanks.. sory took sometime to reply..

Wow, it's good to see an industrial designer here.   notworthy.gif  I am still a student though and just being exposed with 3D rendering this semester blush.gif

Students? where are u studying?

for me, rhino is good for starter and even it can be pushed further in the industries... Right now, i'm into alias studio.. it is complicated a bit in terms of interface, icon, tool's name, shortcut and command.. but the rest is still the same. Once u mastered one software, the building techniques can be applied to other..

search for tutorial at youtube.com, and carbodydesign.com.. thats where i get my knowledge hehehe rclxm9.gif good luck!

HI everybody.... how can I start learning 3D artworks? Any advice??? Appreciate it smile.gif

The best to start learning 3D is to just start it. Get used to its Interface and start exploring creative model with primitive shapes.. What software u intend to start?? Ive been Using Rhino for 4 years i guess?? Theres a lot going on when you do different things. and i just started with 3ds max couple weeks ago. Tutorial you can get from the internet and youtube. but for me,the best way to start is with good friends to advice, morale support and to challenge. good Luck icon_idea.gif

There is a short animation in CD later, if you look at the render itself, book can use better painting then 3D but the production is not 1 process to make 1 product. This is why people in this country don't understand about 3D, it can be rendered into artistic style if required and the main factor is time versus possible usage of the contents. 3D is just the tool while you can produce anything with it if you are creative and resourceful, we use the kind of software movie makers use in movie & video game, just because Asian are mostly short sighted, we are no where near such market.

The amount of time on the book are the same as painting but the re-usability is diverse, have you thought of turning the tiger into a domestic cat or modify into a lion at half the time? When people say market will improve, they generally expect some people will do it but that did not happen in 10 years, the industry who are expected to lead did not adopt the technology and today, various sector remain stagnant.

I present my personal efforts to tell the real situation, if you say 3D will be a demanding job in the future, you are those who said it in the past and they waited. Using 3D on books is overkilled but that is all the jobs available until one day there are demand from other industry, then again younger people tends to spread the wrong messages and will only learn when it comes, as for the rest, its just the corrupted practice that further hampered any such attempts.

This forum started long time ago but I don't see 3D in development, just software based renderings nor digital painting, such ashame that it is only used in archi-interior or industrial design.
*
Kinda agree with U.. Through this forum, we can actually know whats going on upon the development, interest and technology from different people and different places.. Yeah, 3D is actually more specifically being interested by the archi and IndustrialDesign as it was part of presentational media and development of Ideas. But to say that we are no where near such market, I think we are not that close but getting nearer.. We got 3D development, courses, animation and multimedia and gaming in Malaysia and we are actually improving towards such arena. We may be nowhere close to the real market but they are the pioneer and we are 15-20 years late.
Does 3D is demanding, i think yes since everything is changing towards digital visualization and might overtake studio photography. I believe that artistic 3D artist in Malaysia is preparing to make their entrance and ive known some of them.. not very popular but as artistic enough to produce such art.
Ive read this forum several times and I see people starts sharing knowledge and ideas, comments and critique and that is the kind of development this forum had as being the 3D community of the LYN
No offense and SELAMAT HARI RAYA!!! rclxm9.gif
