Love your texturing on the ceiling / pipes, but the lower part I feel that it is a little too clean. You should give some dirt / imperfection on the walls and etc to match the ceiling . Then it'll be ace.

My 2 cents.

[WIP] Working on high poly human character, will be adding armor, props, weapons on this fellar soon. =)

sorry if I sounds a little harsh.

I'm working in codemasters.
Started the base mesh in 3dsmax (doesn't matter which anyway, I'm always a maya user) and scultped in zbrush.
there's a lot of highly capable 3d artist in malaysia. Don't sounds like Malaysia is a back water country.
*
lol, sorry. I have seen capable impressive artist in Malaysia for 2D illustration and few art galleries actually receive international awards as well as in the game industries. Just that never seen one in Malaysia for complete 3D sculpture (yours so far is the best I've seen).

Thanks the met up. Appreciate the time and willingness of sharing ur knowledge in our conversation. Too bad that I was out of time and unable to show u anything.
Anyway, glad that u saw this. smile.gif
My main toolset for now is mainly Zbrush and 3dsmax (due to requirement in game industry). I usually do animations and special fx in Maya and XSI. I also use motion builder for animation purpose. It's all depends on the job requirement.

allow me to shamelessly post a few more works.

Brilliant! However, I cant help but notice, u kept mentioning zbrush. Care to elaborate? It's a 3D software right but how does it help ease the sculpting job?

Oh.... I thought zbrush is well known for most of the 3d artist.
Sorry for being ignorant in not including a link in advance.

http://www.pixologic.com/home.php

U can call it a 2.5d vertex pushing software to aid our detailing jobs for 3d models.

enjoy.

Lol, Im not 3D artist and not artist by profession. Just want to know aside from 3D studio, maya and others.

Solidwork mainly use to produce mechanical part engineering design. Has a dimensioning capability, moving "solid" part function and part obstruction capability and can even simulate how the mechanical part behave to make sure the design has little flaw (that's all I know so far). Not very useful for art work cause there are some limitation (harder to use compare to other 3D software) involve but unless u intend to create real mechanical design with dimensions, then it's convenient.

Someone actually uses solidwork to create 3D violin, rose and lady's high heel shoe. In a way, it can be done but need patient.

Good concept. But still need a bit of work on the sandstorm, cause for me, it looks more like patches of out of focus here and there. Also, the lighting effect need adjustment. The sun not shining enough as well, can see the circle outline.

Sorry....since it's a test render atleast for this moment....

Lotsa detail I planned to put into the scenes.....& here is the new one....how about it?
Structural wise....oklah....probably just me comparing other better one I have seen before. And the people there...need a bit more work to make em more lively.

Though Im not sure what's the theme here? I thought some sort of silent hill project but seeing the bikini girl...not so sure anymore.

Hmmm...probably u need to improve technique here. From the way I look at it, looks like a toy city with couple of barbie dolls.

Example would be like blurring up object in far distance and sharper image up close. The shadows are a bit too sharp as well, meaning the lighting u need to consider how to position em. Errr.....could also be the disproportion of sizes between items in there...need a bit adjustment to get the right feel.

Added on March 5, 2009, 4:17 pmcould a tad of fogging as well.

Not sure why it will improve but I can let you know it will improve because that is what I experience. Tried to render in Vista but besides slower some other problem also occur at the same time therefore roll back to XP and everything is back to normal again.

*
A new os need new hardwares. If u have vista on old computer, of course it will lag. Like putting a high powered engine on a budget mini car is not compatible and probably will damage both the car and the engine. U need at least 2 gb and core duo for vista (probably higher if u r doing more tasks or heavier rendering).

Do you guys know how to sculpt (as in clay sculpting) or have a basic feel for anatomy before using any digital sculpting programs?
*
Depends. If u feel u need to, then u need to. Due to tech limitation, we can only mostly view 3D scuplting as 2D (cause it mainly just comprise of vector scaling to make it feel like 3D). So in a way it doesnt really matter whether u need to do real life scuplting before u jump into digital. Also the fact that the tools used in digital are very different compare to tools used in real life.

regarding the basic feel for anatomy, my opinion, u need to cause even though it's digital, it's still a pain in the butt to try to rescupltered back the error part if u find it proportionally wrong.

Looks like 3D but the progress of making it doesn't look like one. Feel more like 2D paint progress (if so then nice).

Another page of work, I could have done this kind of work 10 years ago but all the old book publishers say no need 3D, even till now and you can see the latest old style drawings but new books except this series because they are not available in the book store only direct selling. Why? Door to door sales is hard work and young publishers are willing to tap the cash market then buying business from school and bribe into book shops.
*
I think a bit overboard for books sweat.gif cause this thing takes time to model and render compare to hands on draw, which also means higher fee. Not to mention simple draw tends to convey more than overly complex 3D on books.

A bit hard to understand the rest of the sentence. Google translate? sweat.gif

sry i dont understand what u talking about...im really new in 3D modeling...that honda showroom is my 1st 3d modeling project...
btw..what do u mean by making sky perspective??
*
There should be some gap between the sky horizon (where the clouds are) and the land horizon. Cause now it feels like they are conjoint twins. The sky perspective need to be a bit shallower cause it really does feel like it's flowing down at a steep angle.

3dassets may have a point. I think should open two 3D forums. One called "3D cg concept" for modeling things normally for gaming industry and another "3D architecture/interior design".
