Hi guys, want to ask about PCB monthly deduction. I recently make a switch to a new company and I noticed my monthly PCB deduction from 2 digits jump to 4 digits.

Old Pay
Gross Pay: RM5873.20, PCB - RM97.60

New Pay
Gross Pay: RM7250, PCB - RM1177.85

Does it makes sense? I am very shock now, please help to advise whether is it a mistake?

1.1k PCB or 13.2k tax is about 115k annual salary including bonus. If you have don’t have any total new & old salary 2024 until end year / allowance taxable / bonus / sign in bonus that hits this amount, then probably HR have keyed your previous salary in wrongly.

You can calculate the PCB yourself here but since it doesn’t make sense, check with HR first.

Thanks, I will check with HR about it. If they key in wrongly, can the deducted money be refunded?

when u switch to new company ..sometime you didnt fill up the LHDN form properly to HR ..system will assumed you didnt pay any PCB since january ..then will deduct kaw kaw

if got any buy-off/in-lieu to previous company and claim from new company ..this consider as taxable income also
you can try to adjust/correct to HR ..so next month you wont kena the same ..if u plan to get "refund" for this month ..i dont think it's possible
anyway ..u can get back your money when u submit your income tax ..no worries

Okay appreciate for the info, I will double check my submitted LHDN form again. There was no buy off also. Do you think this issue can be resolve with HR alone or do I need to visit the nearest LHDN office?
