Naive wish. Be grateful we don’t have such inconvenience, it will be huge financial burden just to live thru few months of winter, also guaranteed higher fatal road accidents rate for our sohai driver.

Yes. It will change Malaysia and people would have more events and it challenges people to do things differently during different season.
We are too complacent because single season is not triggering creative output. |

Malaysia would not be Malaysia anymore if it had cold winter. No coconut, palm oil or banana etc, totally different food. Nasi Lemak replaced with potatoes. Infrastructure would need to be totally different. Nothing is built to handle sub zero degrees. Forget going to school or work on moto. I wonder how DBKL snow plowing would work if same mentality. netmatrix liked this post

QUOTE(soitsuagain @ Jun 24 2024, 10:47 PM) In cold places, if you do not plan ahead, you die. As simple as that. You need to have a warm house and a way to stay warm and fed during the long winter when nothing grows. You cannot just live day by day. Of course in modern societies you can still survive a winter beeing a retard, but that is just beacuse someone else has done the planning for you. |

within 10 days winter In Malaysia. 60~70% plant / animal / ecosystem will be wipe off. estimated >25% population wipe off, especially kids and old people. Our Water delivery system will be totally shut down within 1st 24 hours of winter. Many electronic/electrical appliances are not ready to stay working in winter also. Pipe, sewege system all failed. No hospital can function because they not resign to work in winter. Most house, especially high rise, become killing spot. The Power of uneducated person imagination. netmatrix liked this post

winter is fun especially for holiday
everytime i visit a snowy country, i will see tourists (including adults) playing with snow but the locals will hide away in their house of coz in the long run, u will find winter to be troublesome and annoying interestingly, i spoke with one local (during winter) saying winter is his favourite season because he can do skiiing. So again it's up to individuals. |

Lots of people went for a winter holiday 3 days, saw some snow, then come back say they love winter.. Stay there a month see if they'd still love it or not..
Regular nosebleeds, running nose, dry skin and the hassle of wearing many layers of clothes to keep warm and the hassle to go toilet. |

QUOTE(lorrydriverrocks @ Jun 24 2024, 10:28 PM) Stayed 7 years in Scotland.Winter is annoying to dangerous. Having to look at the weather app on the phone all the time is tiring. Every 5c need to wear different kind of outfit. Changing clothes cab be done in a minute here, now need 20 mins for 4 layers. First snow looks great. Like abc fluffy abc from the sky. Then becomes annoying from white covered areas becoming dirty. Then becomes dangerous as snow turns into slippery ice. Then there are health problems. You'd be lucky just to get fever flu. Try breathing and blood coming out from your nose. One breath off dry air and can get sore throat. Skin bleeding due to dryness. QUOTE(lorrydriverrocks @ Jun 24 2024, 10:28 PM) Mild winter like uk is great. Every time it snowed I was in bliss. Scandinavia winter was wild though, -23 when I went. Couldn’t even leave the hotel with full gear. Maximum walk outside I could do was 30 seconds |

Yes, but I rather not enjoy winter if it means I don't have to experience hot summer.

QUOTE(Virlution @ Jun 26 2024, 10:22 AM) very irritating this... if go sauna or hot bath will help or not? Gatal is one thing, sakit is unbearable. Garu also still prickly there. you force the sweat to come out to clear the pores What happens to Malaysians when go to cold country is that take time to acclimatise with it. Once getting used to the weather, need to always exercise. Get used getting sweaty like all seasons. Exercise without sweating doesn't help. Sauna will help (but expensive). Bath will not-if sensitive skin then kena always put cream after bath. I ended up playing badminton at the community centre 2x a week. That also made immune stronger- no longer sick every time change season. People can die in winter overseas. Poor people have to choose between eathing/heating. Usually they sit in shopping complex during the day, only go home at night to sleep. Heating bill so expensive. So common to hear in news people die because cannot afford to keep warm. Neighbour complain Malaysia, very rarely people die because of heat stroke. This alone need to be bersyukur a lot. First thing I ate at KLIA after I got back was ABC special. 7 years no ABC, also if got also cannot enjoy that kind of food in UK. Ice cream/gellato got, but then summer is like 20C. Makan ice cream nice, but wind cold, also freezing. This post has been edited by mystvearn: Jun 26 2024, 11:56 AM |

QUOTE(Grape Seed X @ Jun 26 2024, 12:40 AM) the thing about winter . . . . it's very hard wanting to leave the bathroom after a nice hot shower......ekekekeke!! the mental strength needed to go shower before going to bed or to get out of bed in the morning to go to the toilet. no thanks, give me 27c night sleeping without a blanket under a ceiling fan anytime. |

Best is our current weather but minus 10C.
Cool enough to be comfortable, but warm enough that I don’t have to wear an extra jacket all the time. |
