Hi, I gotten into a traffic incident in PJ, whereby I parked my car on the right side of public parking lot, then a Red Mazda Pickup truck reverse his truck and rear ended his bumper into my back bumper/fender, while I was still sitting in my car




The Cina uncle came down his truck, he unwillingly to compensate, even I ask for RM 50-100, and he said minor issue, and hurried left.

And I have to go home, scrub through my dashcam video to find his blurry car plate. Managed to found his car plate.
But the video doesn't show his car plate when he rear ended my car.


So I have went to the area's Balai Traffik to file my initial report.
They just tell me to fill up an initial form, on location and car plate. The front desk police officer just open a template and isi tempat kosong.
He didn't ask for my Dashcam video also...

Then went into the I/O's office, the person just screen through the offender's license plate and pass me to the Evidence Photographer Officer, and tell me to come again on Monday during office hour to collect my initial report.

What of the chances I can claim his insurance/NCD? [Not sure correct terminology since very new to this]
Is it required for both party to report police in order to claim his insurance/NCD?
What happens if the offender fails to report police within 24 hours? Will he still get fined?

Asked IO again, about status update.
He mentioned opposite party haven't report yet, so he can't investigate until start opposite party go Balai Polis.

Car Knocker go finished his report.

The Car knocker (Convict) suddenly called tell me to sorted it personally? So it wouldn't leave a record on him?
I ask for RM 300, he die die tell me go to his workshop.

I'm quite blur. I did not provide my phone number to the car knocker at all.
He mentioned he don't want to leave a record. Die die insist go tell me go to his Workshop.
And ask me to close case? (Can this even be legal to happen?)

The Car knocker suddenly send me a photo of his Checklist of Balai Polis report.
That he reported the polis take record at 11:28AM.


I'm now more confused. How he go Balai Polis go make statement.
He didn't get paid RM 300 saman? Why want to settle personally?

Something fishy is going on.


I go ping the IO again, again blue tick no response.


[Friday, 21 June, 2024] -

- Went to Balai Polis Trafik PJ, IO today Off Duty so coincidently.
- Went to the Pejabat Dokumen to see Keputusan Ready, staff say don't have report yet after 3 weeks.

- I go ping the IO again, again blue tick no response.
- Few hours later, the Car knocker called, I ignored his phone number, given that something fishy is up.
