Some argue what is the difference with the current setup, its still sim based internet.
Im sure using a router should be much more stable and efficient versus using a phone.

I saw some wifi sim routers for like rm80-100, with high numbers of sales - should be legit right?

I'm using one of them for 3 years plus. Connected to an existing TPLINK CP1200 (ex Unifi router)
As what "PRSXFENG" says, the label says 4G/5G , but actually there is no 5GHZ wifi. So I'm using that TPLINK router to get 5GHZ wifi (and reduce the load for the modem) .

MY advice if you want to use that router , do change the power adapter that came with it, get a second hand DLINK / TPLINK adapter. You cannot rely on the quality of the adapter.

Performance wise highly depending on area and time.
The advantage of these "routers" is the ability to manually switch "Bands" if they are congested. And the reason its cheap is because they do not support Carrier Aggregation; it cant connect dual network bands at one time.

Seeing that you are trying to host Zoom, yes, Zoom highly dependants on the network at that time. I do connect to Zoom on weekly basis (as participant, not a host) so I know how it feels. Lagging sometimes. So what I do is to restart the modem as first measure. If cannot then only change the band.
