Hi, does anyone know of any shops that does headlight services in Penang Island?

My low beam on the passenger side is dead for a while now.
Attached Image Have been keen on replacing it, even bought the usual LED bulbs to replace them on my own until I found out that the previous owner had modified the eagle eyes with a projector based low-beam, so the ease of the plug & play bulbs have been lost.
My only option now seems to be to install a new projector HID as well as a new pair of headlight lens/cover since mine are very yellow now. (Pic attached)

I have only managed to find one in Georgetown that seems to overcharge their prices after getting a quote from them (with specs of the items and doing research of the same items on the web).
Around 1.3kmyr when the parts cost about 300myr online... sweat.gif

I had thought of getting a new pair of Eagle Lights for my car but that seems to be double the cost of changing the new projectors...
Also thought of doing the whole replacement myself, but I fear that I might screw up when it comes to wiring the lights and the relays together. As well as identifying which type of projectors or relays to purchase...The rest seems to sit fine with me, baking and applying sealant etc. But yeah... sad.gif

Any recommendations or advices would be appreciated.

Oh the original lights are attainable on shopee etc,
But I was hoping to keep the looks of the eagle lights since I dig them a lot.... sweat.gif

Hence the thought of switching back to the original lights never came to mind haha.

Hahaha indeed it is~ lol.gif

I'll consider on getting a pair of original headlights whilst gathering info on the retrofiting.

Also might be going back to Selangor next year, so might hold off on everything as I am not in a rush at the moment. See how it goess I guess.... unsure.gif

clearly puspakom not doing their jobs properly. aftermarket headlamp retrofit is illegal. and if according to law, car headlamp need to be in original stock headlamp in order to pass inspection. but u knowla, puspakom deal with runner. so the runner has give duit kopi to them.

high quality led bulb will easily last 30,000 hours. clearly previous owner retrofit cheap led. cheap no good, good no cheap. thats why some led retrofit such as csb pro can go as far as rm3thousand. u get what u pay lor.

I think if u want a bit cheaper can do at powerwave car accessories.

Yeah I figured... honestly I didn't even know about the legality of headlights until I read online in the past few months after encountering various drivers with eye piercing lights back in Selangor.
I guess the projectors seemed 'stock' with the eagle eye lights as they aren't that bright and were adjusted well in my opinion.

That is true though, nothing good comes cheap and vice versa.
Honestly after doing a bit more research, since I can get a fresh pair of Eagle eye lights for almost the same price as the quote for the retrofit, I think I will go with that route instead of retrofitting new projectors without knowing their longetivity and such. That way I can easily swap out blown-out bulbs easily without worries in the future as well. blush.gif

I think its those retrofit where they removed the headlight lens/cover to install the projector over the pre-existing assembly (not sure why the previous owner did such a thing though...), then re-baked it to seal things up.
So the plug & play socket at the back is 'closed up'. No clear way to access the bulb except to reverse the process mentioned before.
Not too sure though, just saying what is based on what I found out on my own when trying to replace the bulb and also from bringing it to a few accessory shops. blush.gif
