Something went wrong with the keys for 2, w, s, x, and z and every morning i have to tilt my laptop in a certain angle so that i'm able to get to type 2, w, s, x, and z.
Once tilted and i got back the typing ability, it will be ok for the rest of the day. Until i got home (because i need to put my laptop in a vertical position in my bag), then everything is messed up again. I cannot type 2, w, s, x, and z.
So, I need to tilt again my laptop in a certain angle to get back the 2, w, s, x, and z. Once tilted, everything is ok again.
so i wonder if send for repair, usually how much is it. Otherwise if it's too expensive, I'd rather tilt the laptop every morning.

Laptop keyboard? Depends, parts only can search on shopee. Expect double the price for official replacement at authorized shops/repair centre

Usually there are 2 options. 1. Cheap option - connect an external keyboard. 2. Change new keyboard, cost around rm100. Can do at Lowyat.

QUOTE(netflix2019 @ Jun 14 2024, 10:05 AM) sometimes is the battery bloated up messing with keyboard. That sounds plausible, but why would a “reset” work… would t the battery still be bloated?

Probably contact messed up for whatever reason. Easiest bandaid method is to use external keyboard. If you think worth to fix the keyboard itself, there's always the option but I can't advise on that. Maybe can search shopee or Lazada for the replacement part cost then add some reasonable labour cost on top for estimation

I have a similar problem. 1 row (vertically) of keys failed their RGB.

There may be debris under those keys (crumbs, fingernail clippings, hardened boogers etc) that's preventing proper keystroke until it's moved to another part under the key. If the offending keys can be popped off without damage, take a look.
