Yeah, I knew something was going to go wrong before bringing my guitar to school for practice. (acoustic guitar)

The stupid strap came out and the guitar dropped on a hard concrete floor with the sound hole facing the floor.

There is a minor crack on the finishing on the front of the guitar which is okay, i dont mind... but there's two cracks at the back of the neck near the headstock that that runs from the middle (not really, bout 4 inches frm the headstock) up to the edge of the nut. And then u can move the nut, but i put it back in position and now it wont move..

Guitar still sounds the same, the low E string is buzzing slightly but i think its because i just put on new strings.. It isn't running out of tune so it's still good.

Do you think I need to see a guitar luthier for this?

Thanks in advanced,
Nullify.

how long have you been playing the guitar?

you're sounding like someone who just started, and thinks that electric guitar is superior to all the rest.

it's about the price. can u imagine RM1000++ plus it's only 2weeks old compared to below RM500 acoustic guitar... for not rich guy like me, it's very painful like what ongpohheng felt shocking.gif . unless the acoustic guitar cost RM2k++ then it's the other way round smile.gif

Actually, an Acoustic guitar dropping will probably be more damaging in the long run then an electric.

But please, post some pictures to see how bad and then we can give a proper evaluation of the damage.

ya post some pics!!
And tell us the price of ur guitar!

If ur guitar cheap cheap de,then i guess no point, cause the repair fees might pass the cost of guitar.

i guess it teaches us a lesson to get a good strap next time..
I was given a free ernie ball strap when i bought my guitar, after using it a few time, i decided not to use it until i get a strap lock of some kind.. coz the end started to soften.. and the hole starts to get loose after getting on and off the strap butt (*no dirty thoughts please biggrin.gif)

After all how much is the dunlop plastic strap lock cost..?? only rm2 - 3 each... that or paying few hundred for a repaint..

that looks like a simple crack.
the strings are obviously preventing it from opening up.
i guess you havent removed the strings yet...so no idea how badly its cracked.
just bring it to someone to put some glue in there, preferably someone NOT from mahogany or bentley or guitar collection.

Better send your guitar for a check up or a fix as the weather in Malaysia can caused serious harm to it months or years to come...
