Anyone know which prepaid can be activated without face ID? Right now, most telco required us to activated through self-registration app, which face ID is a must.
Due to privacy and safety issue, I prefer not to give my biometric data to any commercial party.
Any suggestion?

Most phone shops can just register with IC, no need face ID.
Only if registering postpaid then need thumbprint.

However, walking to those mobile shop got risk being ID Fraud.

Telco need it. This is to avoid scammer to use new blank phone number to receive SMS of victims.
Scammer would likely to continue to find ways to activate new phone number to do so...

fyi on recent SInchew news. Last time there was a scam on Buying Old cloth for RM10-RM30 too.
Scammers would ask victims to install App on their phone, that receive SMS and then forward the TAC SMS to these new prepaid number
