hi all. i am thinking whether to replace my iphone 11 battery which only left 74% or just trade in and buy a new ip 15. i have no complains about my current phone besides the battery health, its still lag free for my personal use. Any suggestions will be welcomed. thanks.

Can always change to a compatible phone battery. Else sell it for around rm700-800
Buy iphone 15. Saw someone posted can get below 3k with the 6/6 promo. So top up and get a phone that will last another 4-5 years.

Usually I would say change the battery but your iPhone is a bit old. Glad that you got a great deal!

Hey! I was in a similar spot not too long ago with my old phone. If your iPhone 11 still works well for you and you’re not having major issues besides the battery, replacing it might be a smart move. It’s a lot cheaper than getting a new iPhone 15, and it’ll buy you some more time with your current phone. Just something to think about if you’re not desperate for the latest features.

iphone can last 9 years before apps dropping support. which means 2 times battery replacement , total 3 battery (i.e. 1 original, 2 replacement). that is of course if your storage still available lol
so, if you don't care about latest tech, but still love iOS, just replace battery...

RM429 from official Apple retailer e.g. machines or Switch? That’s cheap. I’d change battery with them.

I would suggest to go to Apple Store TRX for battery replacement. They claim the replacement can be done on same day ~around 2 hours +-. The last I check (Oct 2024) with Apple retailer, only iT World mention can be done same day if we drop the iPhone before 12pm. Machines and Switch required few business days for this. Not sure if they change their SOP now.

QUOTE(tahfeikei @ May 5 2025, 09:42 AM) i thought a restore is not required ? what happened? Restore ? usually Apple Store wont restore anything unless its a logic board or software related issue. For battery replacement its pretty straight forward. The should be no changes at all, was told that back up is solely user responsibility. If the backup last made 13 hours that is on you not Apple to manually initiate the back up for you
