The thing's like this... I bought a stock o/c'ed MSI and its artifact free etc at the 660/1900 but after some multi hour session of bioshock, it will occasionally just craps out.. freeze there and then.

Anyhow, I initially thought it was the cooling.... so whack fans kau kau. Only doing less than 50C load and each ram chip temps are around 42-45C only.

To make the long story short..I checked with some friends in Nvidia and they said that its a mem issue... that's why so many boards on the market are DOA'ed and there's that sudden red artifact thingy.

Anyway..I reduced my mem to 1800 now. Core and shader can of course whack lar tongue.gif

hmm...been using same card with 700/2000mhz speed for 7 days.
no problem so far except the hot temperature.
gonna clock mem down soon.

Using stock cooler how high can the 8800GT core clock go (in a normal casing)?
*
At least 700/1900 core and memory. smile.gif
Make sure the stock fan is always above 50% at this speed.

bro, are you sure? without vmod still can bump to 770Mhz  hmm.gif , as I know all the 8800GT 512MB any model any brand is come from Foxconn. "brand" is just stick the sticker & box packing for the graphic card.

the one he's owning is made by MSI themselves.
It's red pcb with full solid cap.
