just ran a quick 3dmark06 test comparing between default 2900XT 1gb and default 8800GT with c2d @ 3ghz

after playing with my friend's card for 2 days.. i think like buying this card.. huhu.. wanna go to lowyat today.. so guys, any suggestion on what brand to choose in terms of price vs performance?

hmm too bad i went out before i saw ur post.. i just grabbed 8800gt galaxy.. dunno how far it will go.. thinking of testing it with my x38 dq6.. but waiting for someone to lend me his ram haha

i just put the 8800gt with my x38 dq6 for the first time.. i cant really test this card coz i think the board is quite sucky.. i cant oc at all.. BSOD everywhere..

well honestly i think it all depends on luck.. coz all using reference board with i'm suppose non hand pick core..

but the difference might be in the bios itself, some using higher clock with higher voltage, or some might opt to use tighter timing to give better results..

dats why last time my forsa 8800gtx can oc very high like other top brand card with extra rm150 price

e2140 @ 3ghz
2gb mushkin value ram @ 900mhz 5-5-5-15

u r asking whether thats the highest gc can go while i clearly stated the 8800gt @ default ceh haha

erm the vcore i didnt set manually in bios, just leave it in normal mode.. bcoz act this cpu can run 3ghz @ default vcore..but maybe the board automatically adjust the vcore..

havent try.. have to do it slowly coz kinda bz with sthing else..


kewl~! last time my x850xt pe also used xp90 .. but at that time i didnt afraid at all coz using lian li v1000b.. so the heatsink wont fall down haha


not sure what tampoi used, but last time i used few cable ties..

hehe cable tie is stronger than u imagine

u can use software like rivatuner..

not sure whether ntune got this option or not..

yeah img / vids quality still 2900xt much better than 8800gt..

ati also has better driver for vista compare to nvidia..

the problem is 8800gt performance has damn good performance at such price makes the 2900xt becomes unwanted card..
