What do you mean by soft vmod? By flashing bios that increase the voltage?

If you havent oc before, dont go for vmod first else there is high chances you will burn your card. haha

my gigabyte 8800gt can do 756mhz core @ 1.1vcore..
but the sp clockspeed is more important than core

so high??? try use ATItool to stress test and scan atifacts....

waiting his ATItool artifact scan screeny.... if really can go that high... i will sell off my asus top right away and get the same as his.... my asus top is far lower than him which is 745/1838/2136 without increasing voltage....

dude.. it's unusual to kill a gc from a oc, unless the temp is jumping through the roof

Hi guys I'm new here
My Asus 8800GT can only OC to 650/950, which is kinda sucks I think seeing that most people can get to 700/1000. Any higher than that I will get artifacts in ATI Tools test.

Mine using the glaciator, but dunno which version...and don't have temp sensor I think. Coz I tried all sorts of program to view my GC temp but fail.
I did try 700/1000 with a few 3dmark runs without problem. But I'm getting errors at those speeds in ATI Tool artifact test. Is the ATI tool test trustable?
How to set fan speed?

I just got myself the Galaxy 8800GT 512MB and manage to achieve around 14,700 3dmark06 755/1887/1030 on E8200@4Ghz. Btw, I removed the stock cooler and mod it with an old Thermaltake Typhoon + YS Tech fan, Thermaltake RAM sicks and did the vMem mod.

I need to test further and see what's the best OC I can get out of this

Default vGPU should be around 1.1V but this card gives 1.25V BUT it's still not enough I'm still waiting for some chaps over at Xtreme to come up with a vGPU mod. Anyway, here are some pictures as promised:













My idle is around 42-44C in an air-cond room and highest is around 55-57C with 3dmark06/ATI Tool. I'm not sure if the score or temps are good as I've been totally out of the graphics card scene for a while. The last time I used 3dmark was the 2001 version Anyway, I can't seem to post my results online after my 3dmark06 run? The site is too slow.

your PNY is stock factory OC at those clock and memory or u OC it yourself until that setting from stock ??

OC4/3, What is orb? I just overclocked the core/shader/memory and everything else is left at default (including DirectX/OpenGL settings)

overclockalbert, thanks but I believe if the cooler has a larger surface then it would be better. I notice the different designs between CPU coolers VS GPU coolers I'll stick with this for a while and see what else I can do.

I'm too old for MSN I do have one but I don't really turn it on and office network blocks MSN
I tried more than 3 times the other and I gave up.

I was just kidding, don't be so serious In fact I'm not sure but I seldom use IM these days and even when office allows Skype, I don't turn it on.
