Hi, I have a Unifi Huawei ONU unit which I wish to exchange for a TIME ONU as since changed provider πŸ˜‡

if u change provider the isp will provide u a free brand new onu.

Yes, they gave me GPON router ...... so can't use back my old WiFi 7 router πŸ˜“

contact time cs and tell them you would like to use your own router, they will change the combo 2in1 router to bridge mode, then you can use it like a onu and connect up your own router

might also need to copy serial number of the time provided modem but it should work if the unifi provided one is huawei branded as well

If u hv root/telecomadmin access to the current GPON router then u can set it as bridge then use ur own router do PPPOE . Tis is way easier thn u use another ONU which need more steps to set up .

Nop becoz most users dont know the superuser/telecomadmin password ( TIME dont pass it to users , dont1 users fuk it up) , the setting is hidden in normal admin login.
If u call TIME help desk thy will remote to ur ONU login telecomadmin and change it .

Just call them up or thru live chat that you want them to set bridge mode because you want to use your own router. Being under contract does not affect this process.

After bridge mode, just connect LAN1 to your router WAN. Setup PPPoE(credentials are in TIME selfcare app), No VLAN needed. That’s all.

 

Change to:
