It's good we didn't pursue the interest. Package including quansah moving to the other side is unacceptable.... And I couldn't remember an ex Everton player moved to Liverpool before .....

Got la, Abel Xavier and Nick Barmby during Houllier’s reign..still remembered the fumes from them bitters back in the day.

Gakpo had a productive tournament so far...
*
Yes, he's been quite sharp and looked dangerous. Think it helps that he plays from the left where he looks more comfortable. Pool played him at number 9 quite a lot which I feel doesn't suit him much.

Actually to me, we are overloaded on that flank as Nunez, Gakpo and Diaz all started from there. Uruguay now plays Nunez in the number 9 role though, so hopefully that provides an alternative when Jota is out. Especially since Jota also played more on the left previously.

Which would you prefer to start on the left FW position? It's difficult to say for me; Diaz presses more but he missed a lot of chances and I feel is less reliable to get goals. Feels like Gakpo can score more but he doesn't press as much.

Arne Slot's press conference: (with Richard Hughes)

Slot expects Liverpool to "improve" further
QUOTE
"It's important for us to improve. You can expect other teams to become better. That's the aim we have."

QUOTE
Hughes: "We need to improve, and we need to improve on the training pitch first and foremost. But with the window open we will always look to be opportunistic. "

Futures of Trent, Van Dijk and Salah are "private matters"
QUOTE
"It wouldn't be fair to talk about it, these are private matters. The only concern we have is total commitment to the cause and we're absolutely convinced that is the case."

Blooding youngsters remains a key point of focus, like Klopp
QUOTE
"I like to see good players and if they are all young, doesn't matter much. Nice to see younger players come through.

"It always gives energy to a club, players from academy but it is all about quality. If they continue doing well there is a fair chance."
No real difference between and head coach and a manager
QUOTE
"For me, it's not a change. I worked at Feyenoord like this. There are not many clubs in the world where there is only one person who makes decisions.

"I like to work like this, to be honest."
Replacing Klopp is "big shoes to fill but also a good team to inherit"
QUOTE
"You can see it two ways. They are big shoes to fill but also a good team to inherit.

"The past has shown there is a possibility for Liverpool to win some trophies. I look at it, in a way, that is ideal. I like to win and there is an opportunity to win at this club."

Pep Guardiola
QUOTE
"It's something to look forward to but there are many managers. If you work at such a league there are many I will face, Pep is one of them, for sure. I lived in an era I saw his Barcelona team and then this Liverpool vs. Man City rivalry."

Hiring of Arne Slot
QUOTE
Hughes:"His playing style attracted us, based on subjective opinion and data. In all metrics, Arne came out really well. Front-foot, attacking football, intelligence, passion - attributes we welcome. He works well with the squad, the supporters and the club."

Virgil Van Dijk
QUOTE
"Every top player wants to win, I hope Virgil wants the Euros first! After his holidays he will come back and wants to win, hunger to win. If you don't have that, you're not at LFC. Feel Virgil's hunger to stay? I did."

Transfer business
QUOTE
Huhges:“Naturally when there are major competitions during the summer, World Cup or a European Championship, in this case it’s a Copa America and the Olympics as well, there’s a lot of football being played.

“Naturally, the attention is going to be there. I think after the [transfer] flurry there was in June, it will calm down a little bit now for the month of July.

“And then like always, when August starts and coaches have had more time to work with players, I think then the opinions will be more set at football clubs.

“And you may see a situation in August, like in previous seasons, there’s a little bit of a hurry to get things done and make sure everyone’s squads are in order.

“I don’t think this [summer] will be any different. Who knows what will transpire economically, it’s hard to say and speak for other clubs.

“But I’d say a quiet July and crescendo in August would probably be the way to sum it up.”

His playing style advocates lots of "freedom" on the pitch
QUOTE
"Implementing a playing style which is similar (to Jurgen) but a bit different, hopefully will lead to special things.

"I'm a bit sad, maybe not the right word, but I hope the see my style is freedom for 4-2-3-1, 4-1-4-1, freedom when we have the ball. When we don't have it we want to be aggressive. I don't say I prefer [specific formations]."

Two more backroom addititions incoming
QUOTE
We're expecting two others to join. A couple more announcements in the near future.

Slot already knows how he will use Trent and Gakpo
QUOTE
"I do have my opinion about where they are going to play here. But if you don't mind I will speak to them and work with them first!"

Jurgen Klopp has agreed to become an honorary ambassador for the LFC Foundation, with his commitment to the club’s official charity continuing following his departure as Reds boss.

Question for those who have bought ticket to watch Liverpool play at Anfield before for Premier League as an international fan (Non UK resident).

I will travel to UK this December until January 2025 and want to buy the ticket for Liverpool's home match.

I have read a lot and some say you need to pay for LFC membership first. Or maybe buy from third party sites.
Another one is "hospitality" pricing but it is around 600 pounds.

Any forumer here have advice on buying tickets?
