I don't understand the gk transfer. Is he better than Kelleher? At least Kelleher is proven in PL and has stayed loyal to the club for so long. Why pay 40mil now and let him stay in Spain for another year? If he play shit this season it's gonna be pie in the face for us for paying so much in advance.
If we gonna pay 40m and Kelleher wants to move, then do it this summer. Really brainfucked with this transfer move.

If we look at Chiesa (10.9m) as replacement for squad players we sold like carvalho (25m) or Clark (10m), then it is a good business.

Quite a bargain if he stays healthy and can adapt to EPL

I saw his name in the U23 lineup the other day. Think he is still fit!

Technically, mac can play as No.6 too like he did last season. We are covered but it would be better to get a specialist No. 6 than a makeshift one.

I'm still nervous when macca play further behind, he can get easily dispossessed. Then I'll be pulling my hair... Like pep watching Salah through on goal...

I guess our data scientist informed that the goalie value will significantly increase

barella is a no8...so when he comes he can have the no6 jersey while playing as a no8...
meanwhile our no8 jersey is playing as a no10 and our no10 jersey is playing as a no6...
and the circle is complete...

Hahaha i like this

Agreed and i think although Chiesa signing is a bargain and a welcome one, i really rather we sign a DM or CB.

Or maybe, possibly, could be just another business signing, keep loaning out and sold off for even bigger money.

His stat on last season +performance at Euros in helping Georgia qualify to last 16, prove he has potential become elite level gk.

If we don't get him now, we might need to fork out even higher money in the future for Alisson replacement.

Good news i guess. A bargain fees for me, 12.5mil for a world class player (and maybe injury prone) in last year of his contract.

To put this fees into perspective, utd pay mount 55mil and de ligt 38mil (both have reputation of being injury prone). And both are in their last year of contract too. Even merino cost arsenal 32 mil, last year contract too. So i believe 12.5 is a calculated risk for chiesa.

This gk transfer makes a lot of sense to me. In fact, i am very happy with it. Reason is because, first, giorgi is a very good keeper based on what i see him in euro. But euro is only a few matches. 2nd is, next year, for sure, either ali or kelleher will leave, without a doubt, so we well prepared already.

3rd, the fact we lock a talented player shows that the board and transfer team are looking into the future, which makes me feel relieved (for now).

Ali said he is happy and family is settled in Liverpool and he will stay at least for the length of his contract which I think runs until end of 2026 season. To me Kelleher staying or leaving doesn't make a difference. If Ali stays I will want Ali to start. So what that leaves us is a 40mil talented gk getting minutes in League Cup matches.

And if he starts sulking after 2 seasons playing second fiddle, good luck finding someone who will pay more than the 40mil + wages we spent on him.

I'm not against signing talented players. It's just mind-blowing to me that...
- Ali and Kelleher is still here
- We paid and let them have him another season
- What if he suffers an injury or drop in form
- We don't have bottomless pit and desperately need a DM or LB and yet we spend 40mil on a gk for next season

Keep loaning out 5mil player maybe still can get 8-10mil if he plays well.
Keep loaning out 40mil player, good luck with that.

Yea last time i really like Chiesa and wanted him to be signed by LIV, but think of it, Italian hardly work out for us.

Well, since it's 15m? I take it.

Im confident Chiesa could turn out to be replacing Salah where his contract ended on this 24/25 seasons
Even might being much better than what Salah had became after he joind Liverpool from Roma
Lets just hope team staff can improve his physical first sweat.gif

Just know he speaks English well, should be able to integrate easily.

And he will wear no 14, a legendary shirt worn by Alonso and to a certain extend, Hendo.

10mil is a complete steal!

I think RB Salzburg is a good destination for him. Their current head coach is Pep Linders and sit on top of the table. He will gain a lot from it.
