Ok let's agree to disagree. To compare Casemiro who is from La Liga to someone who has performed at the highest level for 8 years for us in the EPL is not a fair comparison at all.
Let's see if the fans are happy with sustainable 1 title in 10 years. While City recover from their mini slump, and teams from 6th to 12th consistently catch up with the top 6.
*
Casemiro won 4 champions league before joining manu, and he is just one of the example.

I for myself am happy with one title in 30 years. Heck I told my wife I will be truly grateful if LFC can win one title in my lifetime πŸ˜‚. Given how the other teams are cheating with their money, it's a miracle what klopp was able to build. I support the club not for it's success, but for what it is.

β€œHappy with 1 title in 30 yrs”

Leicester is your club man

Understand the foundations and history of LFC and the Shankly’s guiding principles. LFC won’t be LFC today with 1 title in 30 yrs. and β€œyou understand the club for what is it?”

Far from being happy.

Any right minded self proclaimed LFC supporter should be feeling angry and disgusted with FSG right at this moments and  how they handled the contracts of Salah, Trent and Virgil.

Those stingy capitalist bastards are destroying the institution and fanbase are still worshipping them like a FsG customer.
*
Yaya. Make sure you let your feelings known to them so they can change for the better ya. Email, socmed, fly to US. Make sure to help us convey the message. Thanks ya. Better still you can pay for the contract we will worship you instead thanks ya

i rate VVD higher, imagine the game without VVD who could fill up his position? dont get me wrong Salah is great too..
*
Used to think vvd is more important to lvp than Salah too. But this season Salah is on another level

Maybe deep in his heart he knows this is his last season with us, so he will gives his all. He even make a rallying cry last night by saying he and the big guys need another title. Most probably another title before they leave end of this season.
*
Still feel /hope both vvd and salah will renew. Trent couldn't care less about him now after coming to terms.

QUOTE(sahathai @ Feb 24 2025, 06:52 PM)
both are the best in their respective position for past the 4 or 5 years. but nothing last forever. the main concern rite now is to find their replacements and to ensure the transition is smooth. any forward with Salah consistency and output would easily cost way over 100m. to find a CB with the same aura as VVD is even harder. and to lose them both at the same time before we get their replacement will just put us a few years backwards
*
If you look at the past year transfer, exorbitant fees are no longer there thanks to ffp. One realistic target Liverpool can look at is mbeumo from Brentford. Similar profile to mane and salah at the kind of fees fsg will be willing to spend (60+m)

Cunha and mbeumo cant la. Both of them at best are mid table players only. I follow cunha since his atletico madrid days, really overated. Not a finisher at all. Both of them are not finisher.
*
Salah and mane are 10+ goals per season attacker too before they join us. Mbeumo has 15 league goals this season and the physicality, age and epl experience suits our profile too

No comment on that. But i do agree salah proves me wrong. When he first arrive, i was like wtf, why are we buying him? A chelsea flop!  laugh.gif
*
I think the first one was mane? Someone from southampton. Then the trend goes on with salah, then jota (when everyone were raving another wolves attacker Adams traore)

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 24 2025, 09:19 PM)
cannot like this la...
list of players LFC signed from lower divisions can go on and on...

anyway...Cunha was a replacement for Jota...
so no reason for FSG to go for Cunha.
Isak i feel is quite inconsistent... maybe cos Newcastle also quite stupidly inconsistent...
Mbuemo is ok... but wtf do we need so many up front anyway...

priority should still be another CB and also LB like Kerkez...
and another no8 or no10...
*
Isak is gaining consistency now. But he hasn't shown he is capable of staying injury free for a long period of time, so dun think we should be signing him.

Mbeumo will be a brilliant signing to replace or eventually replace salah. Chiesa may be gone as well next season.

Signing a left back looks like a certainty already

QUOTE(ry8128 @ Feb 24 2025, 09:40 PM)
Not about lower division or not la. Its the quality of players. There are rumours slot want to sell diaz, nunez and even jota. If 2 of them go, then we need 2 more players as replacement. We playing with 3 forwards, so we need at least 5 forwards in the squad.

Actually, not only CB and LB. We need to have a total squad revamp. Many of our players are at the wrong side of 30s already. Core players no need to say la, all >30s. If we didnt buy more players in the next 2 years, we gonna be like city, unable to sustain.

City planning is damn good. They already start to plan many years ahead with their purchase this and last year. Look at the players they field up last night. Doku, nico, josko, all aged 22/23. Khusanov and savinho 20. Just 20! Savinho and doku overrun our fullbacks so easily.

How many players we have in the age of 20-23 that able to play like them? Only ryan and szobo. The rest of our first teamer is late 20s to 30s.
*
City planning is not good la actually. If their planning is good then we won't see this season decline. What makes you think they are good is bcoz they have money to burn, so whatever flaws they have with their planning they just cover it up with money. If doku fails they just buy another one until he comes good (and so far I haven't see anything to suggest doku has been a successful buy, stats wise) Comparing to our struggle two seasons ago (which is very similar to city) klopp wasn't able to sign anyone mid season, but city spent 200m last month.

So it's true we are interested in this guy.

Better don't. Huijsen simply looks like another who will leave for free to real Madrid 5 years later. Prefer to sign a more established centre back with a lower ceiling, someone like guehi maybe

QUOTE(skyz @ Apr 25 2025, 05:28 PM)
We need at least one or two new CB if konate leaving in the summer...
Now players will run down their contracts, higher bargaining power to get big fat paycheck during their last year contact renewal...

Perhaps signing players with long term contracts (eg: 8 years) like what chelsea have done is a good strategy...
1) can spread the player transfer fees over the contract period
2) don't have to worry about player rebel asking for higher wages, continue to serve contract until expired
3) preserve their market value, prevent player leaving for free (like mbappe and soon TAA)
*
Konate seems like players that will be here for a long time, it's only normal agents are asking for higher wage now given what van dijk and salah are now earning.

Longer wages like Chelsea is a huge risk in itself. Established player around the age of 25 won't get such contracts as players generally regress at around 29-32 years old. Younger players on the other hand may flop bad, or turn out not good enough for lfc, and if given the long contract it will be difficult to ship those out.

What irks me now is both real Madrid and Barcelona are utilising their pulling power to the max. Say we sign players like huijsen (who is Spanish) for 5 years, he will be around 24 years old once his contract expires (it's like we spend 50 million on him to become real Madrid academy nurturing player for them

This is exciting guys. Never thought possible to sign wirtz. Quote from fabrizio romano

🚨 ππ‘π„π€πŠπˆππ†: Liverpool are CONFIDENT to get Florian Wirtz deal done after fresh contacts! πŸ’£

Talks ongoing to get final green light but Liverpool are favorites ahead of FC Bayern in race for German gem.

Liverpool want to be fast to avoid surprised with Wirtz considered an absolute priority target for this summer.

ℹ️⛔️ π—₯𝗲𝗺𝗢𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: Man City are 𝐧𝐨 longer in the race.

Salah moving inside linking with Wirtz and frimpong overlapping. Slot hinted at number 8 role for szobozlai so he will drop deeper covering the space left by frimpong.

Not sure if we still have the money for kerkez or will have to delay left back signing for another year

Is this the first time we sign 100mil bracket player....?
Anyway kerkez is a must for me, delaying it will be risky....

Will macca pass number 10 to wirtz...?
*
It is. Caicedo was almost the first time though. Macca handling over his shirt number will be a disaster, he's been one of our best player and just recently rebuffed a certain real Madrid interest. As good as wirtz may be, no one should come in and take another's number.

BTW, looks like it could be a player+cash swap deal.

Anyway, love how alisson grab a hold of kerkez during the red card incident like a dad and how he stays with schar when he was down injured.
