I left this previous Co (an MNC) because of salary issues that my superior that time did not know about. I kept it to myself.
I discovered everyone's pay via HR portal bug, the MNC now knows (after many months) I accessed this info and decided to solve it within the IT side to patch the bug.
I got all this info because I was contacted by my ex superior, now that the superior knows I was furious about my unfair pay, and proposed if they can counter offer me my current salary PLUS 5% on top.

People are leaving that MNC and there is shortage of hands to handle the professional tasks.
They don't mind to have me back and finally gave the pay that I desired, despite many months have passed since I joined the new Co.

If you asked me, I would prefer to work in that MNC's environment & reunite with my friends again, and do the work that I am already familiar with, this time giving it my all due to pay rise.
But in the first place I left the MNC in a bitter note, going back now seems a bit weird. Not sure if they will bring up the HR bug case to me again when they are unhappy with me.

But the offer is there, it is up to me to accept it, should I go for it?

It was more like trying to gauge the sentiment forumers can provide, not really scared.
If there is a specific clause that prevents them to revisit this case again if I go back, why not?
I've been in that firm for many years at this point, I grew attached to there and fond of the environment, minus out the stupid salary arrangement and the workplace is near perfect.

Any sane person would get guarantee to not revisit this case if he or she is to go back.
If not, I'm not going back in obviously.
But man, the counter offer is attractive. I'm looking forward to the negotiation with that ex superior, let's see if there is a chance to remove that "ex" and become my superior again.
That person is not that bad actually, if only my request for higher pay revision proceed as planned, but somehow the rise is pathetic and the structure is stubborn.
1 of my ex colleague there got a measly 1% increment for the great effort spent, you can see how twisted this MNC is.
I'm fine with lower increment if at least my basic is back to "reasonable" range.

Personally I won't recommend to go back...

Because there's might be some "bad blood" involved...

Careful...

Money is important but others too...

On a second thought, you are right.
Just 5% increase on top of my existing salary in new Co, hard to justify to jump back into the old place and meet my previous superiors again, now that they know I was extremely unhappy with my previous pay.
Bad blood is a concern.

If I hack, is it a criminal offense?
What if I no hack? But the HR system is rubbish and let anyone exploit the bug and able to see everyone's salary?
It surprises me that such a big MNC choose a rubbish system as HR portal.
Imagine it was not me but others accidentally look into my salary and laughing at my low pay, so embarrassing.
Probably I am not the only one who have seen it, might be more, maybe 4 or 5 person, I think they just keep quiet to themselves and do nothing, considering such an easy leak from the HR portal.

Dodgy. I wouldn’t go back, because your reputation may not be squeaky clean after your ‘exploitation’ of the bug.
