Test work, is it normal?

QUOTE problem is I couldn’t find much info on this company and I saw the same job posting using another company name on other job sites. I asked him before to tell me more about the company but instead of telling me he asked me to do the test work and said he got 80+ applications Scam alert, sirens are blaring loudly as we speak. Why would some genuine company who do genuine works do not have any track records if they have been in existence in the US for a period of time?
