 Awek cannot speak BM anymore after 1 year in UK

how capacity human

i got friends that are born overseas, studies overseas longer or worked overseas longer when come back for family reunion still speak like a local, for long timers it is nothing special being overseas

only those go over few months or a year feel they so special compared to their friends stuck in malaysia

come back talk got twang or cannot speak local or mother tongue anymore......lol

could be speak english at home type of M.
from experience it is possible to lose a bit of fluency after 1 year of totally not using a language, though it should be easy enough to pick up again when back in our local setting

Myself still multilingual after living in omputeh country many years. Kolik also "eh why you BM so good?". I almost failed BM in SPM la diu.

Have relatives who've migrated to Canada/UK/Aus for 20-60 years yet still can speak damn good Hokkien and broken BM.
1 cousin migrated at 3 years old yet can order food in BM when he visit here once every 5 years.
