Been using epson inkjet with tank, last long, compatible ink is cheap, reaaly reliable for printing 20 to 30 pages daily. Easy to remove paper jam, has wifi. Can print from mobile. Been using this printerfor about 2 years. Only caveat, print regularly or ink will dry up and need deep clean. Model is L3000 series.

whatever you go with
DO NOT BUY A HP
NO MATTER WHAT THE PROMO/SALESMAN/WHATEVER
DO NOT BUY HP

problems include...
Please insert ink, connect to wifi and login to your HP Account
JUST TO SCAN

And well, low budget... is a trap

cheap printer = very expensive ink
expensive printer = cheap ink

the money you "saved" by getting a cheap printer will be lost from you buying ink over and over again

Get a Epson EcoTank or a Brother Ink Tank printer
ink tank printers are expensive upfront but you buy ink every few years instead of every month

but, low print volume could be a concern

for your use case...
printing outside at a print shop may be the best solution...

I concur... never buy a HP inkjet printer.

It's a con job.... they even got sued in the US.... multiple times.
But us consumer here, has no such option.

I would recommend buying a non ink tank if you dont print regularly. Buy those cheapo Canon like E470 or E4200 if you need fax. Ink cartridge are cheap for these model.

Why I do not recommend ink tank for low usage? Your print head might get clogged if you dont print every week. The E470 and E4200 shared the same printer cartridge and the print head are on the cartridge itself. Changing a new cartridge mean having a new print head.

Since you are on a low budget, any brand of inkjet would do.

Recommend Epson series, as their ink tank have many compatibles or refill available in the market.

Do take note that inkjet printer have a famous problems, if you seldom print it the ink tank will dried out or the print head will be clocked due to dried ink inside. This will cause another problems for you, as replacing the print head is very expensive than the ink tank, will cost you almost the same price as buying a brand new printer.

Do some research & shop around, look for model that have the print head & ink tank together as a cartridge, this way when you replace the ink tank it will also replace the print head too. Thus you will always have a clean print out quality & easy to replacement cartridge.

If you have a relatively good budget, I would suggest go for LaserJet series. Yes, its very expensive but it doesn't have such problems of clogging the print head. LaserJet uses toners YMCK (Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black), means there are at least 4 toners and each toners will be expensive.

Hope this helps... cool2.gif

Don't get ink tank if you rarely print. Heads get clogged if you don't use it often. If you do, get Canon ink tanks where you can replace the heads yourself. Personally I'm using Epson L355 ink tank. Purchased 2013. Changed heads & waste pad once about 6 years ago. I try to print 2 times a week just to keep the heads alive.

My friend seems to be quite happy with his HP 6475. About 2 yrs old now.

I don't recall the prices but ink tanks are usually more expensive.

For occasional color printing, I'd recommend the Canon PIXMA MG3620. It's affordable, does a good job with color prints, and generally doesn't have issues with paper jams.

For occasional color printing on a budget, I'd recommend looking into inkjet printers. They're generally more affordable upfront and can handle color printing well. Look for models that have good reviews for durability and paper handling. Also, consider checking the cost of replacement ink cartridges to ensure ongoing affordability. Some popular and reliable options include the Canon PIXMA series or the HP DeskJet series.

Your current use case and requirements? Forget about getting one and consider using a print shop instead icon_idea.gif
Most 'cheap' consumer grade printers are practically a waste of money anyway and are not worth buying one if you are only printing sparingly icon_idea.gif
Printers are inherently specialized stuff that you cannot really cut cost on - buy a cheap printer and it will end up costing you much more financially in the long run icon_idea.gif
There's a reason why good printers (usually geared toward businesses) tend to cost a lot, and this is partly why most businesses simply opted to lease them instead of buying one outright icon_idea.gif
Any reasons why you want to print in color? hmm.gif

Disclaimer: I work for a company who mainly deals in HP(E) and Lenovo hardware, but I do not work directly for the two companies icon_idea.gif

To be fair HP mostly pulls this kind of stuff on the consumer grade models (their business models tend to avoid this) and other brands like Canon does this too icon_idea.gif
But on a more serious note people should seriously consider not buying a printer unless you legitimately use them on a daily basis (no, printing 1-2 color pages / month doesn't count) icon_idea.gif

Hi guys,
This almost has no related to the topic but i would like to share that some sensitive printers such Epson that still catch dirt on the printer head although you are using original ink and always covered when not in use.
The dirt has actually come from the paper!
I have sent my epson printer for warrantee claim due to missing nozzle although i have done power cleaning. The epson technician told me the printer head has caught the dirt. They have to use chemical for the cleaning.
The technician told me if this happens again, we can do the software cleaning while leaving the ink cap opening before sending for warrantee claim.
I hope this can help you guys if facing this problem.
Tq for reading. smile.gif
