Anyone has experience of using 5g for home internet and want to share ?
I use and handphone to test my 5g connection, I get around 300-600 Mbps speed in the morning. This is tested in the house where the unifi modem/router is located.
In term of cost 300mbps unifi is around rm150 after tax, and I supposed 5g will be around rm50 only after tax.
I get saving of rm100 per month, after a few months, it is sufficient to payback the 5g modem/router.
Is the calculation correct?

QUOTE(lurkingaround @ May 20 2024, 10:31 PM) For more indepth info, go to, ....... https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5388640 - U Home 5G RM68 https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5403079 - YES 5G Wireless Broadband Flexi Unlimited RM58 Note that Mobile 4G/5G Internet is more prone to network congestion during peak traffic hours in urban areas because of limited frequency bandwidth capacity, especially when more and more city folks hop onto the 5G bandwagon. . Then it will be good if there is a comparison between U 5G versus Yes 5G, in term of quality.

QUOTE(4WD_er @ May 21 2024, 07:53 AM) For 5G home package, meaning you put the sim card in a 5G modem at a fixed location which has the best signal in your home, personal experience=> Yes5G better. When i used U mobile SIM card, even with lock band in my Yeacomm 5G modem, there were times in almost each day the speed dropped significantly. Nearly none of that for Yes5G now. The last mile of 5G are the same right ? I haven't had access to a Yes sim, but I have a U mobile sim, which I got around 300 Mbps - 600 Mbps. Does it mean there is signal of Yes 5G at my location?
