Anyone has experience of using 5g for home internet and want to share ?

I use and handphone to test my 5g connection, I get around 300-600 Mbps speed in the morning. This is tested in the house where the unifi modem/router is located.

In term of cost 300mbps unifi is around rm150 after tax, and I supposed 5g will be around rm50 only after tax.

I get saving of rm100 per month, after a few months, it is sufficient to payback the 5g modem/router.

Is the calculation correct?

Just get 2 years contract with U Mobile. RM68 with router included... I just signed up and got around 300-500 Mbps. I also signed up for Celcom Home Wireless 5G for office since we dont have unifi lines over there.

I got ZTE Router for both, 801s (from Celcom) and 888s (U Mobile). The thing with these is the occasional strange hang problem. I managed to track down the problem and it wont ever hang if you turned off the wifi on these. Just plug your previous wifi router and use as AP to provide wifi. It worked stable for months already.

5g vs fibre... If you're using internet for normal browsing or streaming should be no problem for 5g for 1 user

If you're using for meeting, uploading, streaming for multple user you start to see bottleneck on this...

Stability wise fibre better.

You must be joking... you think you still live in 4G era? Both my son are gaming without complaining about lag nowadays compared to the laggy unifi. Im mostly web3 and streaming.
