Just back from Japan for 5 days business trip. Overall is great. I were staying in Chuo City area, which is just 3 mins walking from TCAT. Weather was great, environment was great. Eveything just excellent. I not really go around much, I went to Ginza, Akibahara and Roppongi Hill (sky tower). Those citiy area surely a lot of ppl. I got problem is tend to lost bcoz you know building in japan were build in such like maze type,one u go in lorong lorong, sometimes you may just lost the direction.
I think holiday in tokyo for hotel shouln't be a problem, as long is walking distance to metro line is ok. You can buy one day trip ticket which cost only 710yen. And can use all the metro line except the toei and JR. But is most than enough for you to go around. Walking is must, maybe you can ready a pair of good shoe to walk around.
Food was great, shuhi, udon, soba etc. The quality of food is great, even those normal small shop, their food is just up to certain quality. you can find food everywhere, just a walking distance from hotel. Very pround of them. Imagine food in local, everything just put in fresh or no fresh. In Japan you will have only fresh food. Those shuhi they don't eat frozen fish, it is deliver daily. For frozen type, it taste no good just as in local. I would say they got very good culture, for them is a shame to failed to provide good food. Money is not prioprity but pride for them is important.
Clealiness is damn clean, you hardly find any rubbish around. Ppl are very good civic minded.
I understand why Japanese ppl are pround of them self. They just got the pride they got their own brand of culture. We should learn a lot from them. If you see the cars there you will notice they arent any dirt or dusk, even thsoe lories. The rim is damn shinning for lorries. Safety is not a problem, you can walk around. 7-11 shops are a lot.
Definately will go again. I don't see Japan trip is that much expensive, if you spend places in city area if could be. But normal place it shouldnt be a problem. Stanard mee will cost around 500yen or less about Rm16 but is definately better than those jap restaurant in kl. Don't wory about food, cincai find one also taste great. But plz don't eat chinese food there, it taste bad.
Even normal business hotel might cost around 9000yen around rm270. Maybe you can find cheaper. Standard hotel rate here also around 150. If you go Sg even worst. You sould find dirty or bad service in Japan. They will always greet you in smile wherever you walk in into their shop. LCLY will never happened in Japan, hope I am right.
Plz do provide any budget air line to Jap, really wanted to go again.

Hakone is a nice place to visit.
Buy a Hakone Pass at Shinjuku Odakyu Travel Centre.
You will have unlimited travel in Hakone at a roundtrip from Shinjuku to Hakone Yumoto.

Suggested Itinerary :
          1. Hakone Yumoto - Moto-Hakone (Hakone Shrine)
          2. Moto-Hakone - Hakone-Machi
          3. Hakone-machi - Togendai (Lake Ashi)
          4. Togendai - Owakudani - Shouzan
      5. Shouzan - Gora
      6. Gora - Hakone Yumoto
