I have finish paying for my car with maybank, will there be any release letter given? I contacted the home branch, they told me it is not their duty, HQ will mail it to my home but will take 1 month time. Has anyone experience this before?

If they say they are going to do it, should not be a problem. Have it written in email. Atleast there is a black and white.

Go to the auto finance hub for your loan. Years ago I went straight to mbb Dataran Maybank at Bangsar, saying I cleared my final settlement, then on the spot they issue one for me

Only Maybank have this release letter? Or is it the same for other banks like PBB?

I called the auto finance hub that i went. They told me they wont issue anything. They said is the HQ. Dont know why so difficult to release a letter that need 1 month time. I have already seen the account closed in my MAE app

ask you make last payment over counter and they will print 'loan payoff' on the slip and that's it

Call up the bank and ensure they do e-batal in JPJ system, in case you intend to sell the car

Now they do e-batal no need any letters anymore. JPJ straight updated

But that is for the JPJ side right? Not bank side

bank will do it online.

The "release letter" was needed in old days for u to show to JPJ to remove bank claim.
Now do e-batal u no longer need any letter.

I recently cleared off my car loan with Maybank too

Don't need to do anything

Once I paid off my last payment, the loan account was closed automatically

A week later, I called JPJ to confirmed the bank has done the ebatal

No release letter nothing

Ok thanks. Dont know why the branch told me wait to receive a letter from HQ within a month time?

no need release letter nowadays for owner, the geran will be nullified by the finance automatically and send to JPJ to process ..

Banks should have I think. Me finish pay ptptn they also got give me release letter.

I finished payment with Maybank last month. They said no letter given immediately as currently don't need for JPJ. There is no "Hak Milik Dituntut" On the car grant.

MAYBANK will send a letter to you later. I still have not received mine.

I believe that would be the e-batal confirmation printed out when bank submit the e-batal.
Just to show to u they already did it.

U can call JPJ to check whether its done already or not. The confirmation not really important.

settle the last payment in your home branch and then they will give you a piece of paper saying ownership has been transferred

I settled HLB and MBB around the same time end of 2023, never get any letter from them. Both loan account has disappeared from my bank also.

Malas nak chase. Maybe one day they will just send me letter or something.

Now everything already link with jpj. No need to do anything. 6 years ago i finish my loan with ambank. No letter what so ever. Then i sell my car without a problem. Easy peasy

No letter issued already, which also means no letter is ever going to be posted to you (so if you wait, you wait in vain).

Its now ebatal, ie its linked to JPJ online system

No need to do anything except maybe ask your bank if they have done the ebatal already or not

Car grant with me. Only my name on it.
The loan details all disappeared from my banking app.

I only got a receipt from maybank when I paid off the car loan, thats the only black and white i got from the bank

then went to jpj to batal the hak milik in geran, but that was 10 years ago, I assume now will be much simpler? just paid online then all settle, jpj also can inform online jg?

Banks should do the e-batal thing over at their end. Borrowers don't have to do anything as per my experience few years back.

Didn't know that, during that time not that "online", and the car was in Semenanjung and the bank was in Sabah, so I just did everything manually, since the place I'm at quite relaxed, usually not many people at gov counter like jpj or even banks.

Managed to settle my final payment today.
Processing fee around RM125. Have to pay it to get car grant and to ensure the status is "paid off" in the loan. The clerk said don't need to go to JPJ to perform the "e-batal". It will be updated on JPJ's system online.

just go to the branch where your loan is maintained to retrieve the car registration card. they will do release online immediately there and give the card back to you.
