so not true !! summer is aso peak travelling season  , domestic airtickets/cruises aso more expensive( from wad i see =D )

but heard from japanese frens the heat and humidity are true  blush.gif
*
Well, I was in tokyo early sept 2011 and i can tell you it's not really peak season. Places that are usually crowded (that market right in sensoji temple area) was totally deserted then. I was there in Feb 2008 and it was pack like OUG pasar malam. Seriously packed.

Since it was Sept and moonsoon has passed, it was about 29c daily and humidity shot up to about 90% or maybe more. Haven't walk for 5 mins, already sweat. It's not too warm, just the sweating part is annoying. Wear shorts and singlet everyday also sweat!!!! But it was nice to shop around without having to wear thick winter jackets and also the fact that I don't mind to be out past 7pm because it wasn't cold. biggrin.gif

Be prepared to queue for hours for a ride. Or u can use the Fast Pass at Disney to save time
*
Last time i tried taking the fast pass at about 11am, my god the 'fastest' next ride is at 5pm.... lol I just went n queued la!

DisneySea has a more adult-ish feel. Not so magical like Disneyland. I went  to Sea on a non-holiday Monday, but made no difference - still packed like hell. sleep.gif"
*
Yes, I think Japanese ppl like to go disneyland/disneysea. No matter how cold, how hot, in weekdays/weekends, it will still be packed. I do see alot of them go inside and keep playing with the 'tin' coin machine. Some of them looks like they are collecting it.

WRONG!!!

Very wrong...please do your homework.

Osaka Airport are for JAL and ANA domestic only.  your won't get Jetstar at Osaka Airport.
Kansai got 3 Airport....pleae do your homework..make sure which airport to Tokyo - Narita Airport
*
I checked Jetstar's website dy. They do indeed land in Kansai International Airport.

In kansai's airport website also got state 'Jetstar' and 'Jetstar Asia'.

I'm going to Osaka end of October for a week with budget 3.5k that inclusive of flight fare.
*
Hrm, i'm heading there for a week on the last week of Oct but I think your budget might be a little too little since it's inclusive of flight?

Include accomodation as well?

My rough budgeting is around RM1.7k for food, transportation, entry fees for USJ, Kobe Herb Garden, and some other places of interest.

But confirm i'll top up another 2.3k to be on the safe side.

well, visa is still under go but will do it ASAP  biggrin.gif

iam going to japan at the 13th to 16th at july

the flight is at thursday evening and will be arriving at japan in the night and yeah there is nothing i can do at the 1st day but to hanging around in the terminal airport till the next day =)

ok, the first morning i plan to go to fuji mountain, as i belive it is the main plaace to be so besides the activities, what still i can do over there? (doing homework here)  and planing to over hight there and yeah i have my hotel booked already

the third day, i will be at the disneyland (hope it is not crowded)  and yeah but any hotel recommended over there? well, planing to be a budgeted hotel though and is in searching though and need recommendation in here

well on the fourth day, is the shopping there  any suggestion place to go? which have a good transportation to go to the airport? i heard the future city is good it have lots of cool technology there and a big gundam and i believe the place is called Shiokaze Park in Odaiba, Tokyo? or is there other place which is good in shopping and have fun?
*
Actually with you arriving haneda at night, still got time to take train to the city n spend a night at a hostel. Better than not shower right? Some more is summer la.

FYI, better get your visa done as it's already june 22nd now. Dun under estimate japanese immigration. Later kena reject that time, susah.

Since u'll be going to fuji mountain, why not on the way back stop by hakone hang around and then go to Gotemba Factory Outlet. IMO, all the american brands are really nicely priced. Below malaysian retail price IMO, cheaper than even when there is discount in KL as well. This is for brands like Gap, Banana Republic, Adidas, Nike etc.

Disneyland Tokyo, no matter school holidays or not, public holidays or not, confirm will be crowded. So better start your day in Disney as early as when they open. And faster go take the famous rides first, later only go n take the less popular rides. Else, it'll probably won't even be your turn when disney is closing for the day.

I stayed at Aizuya Inn (it's near Minami Senju Metro station - the grey line/Hibiya Line or JR Joban Line - 2 train line in 1 station) but abit far from city, about 30 mins but it's cheap la. I paid about RM120 the most per night - private room but shared bath/toilet. It's clean but it's tatami floors, smell like grass during summer but smell like nothing during winter. The room got 14" lcd tv, aircon cum heater and window. It's small but livable. About 8 mins walk from train station to inn and got 7-11 nearby. I always stay here when I'm in Tokyo because I prefer a private room. But i think staying in Tokyo anywhere as long as it's near train station is ok as the train is very frequent.

Sorry maybe not much info on shopping for gadgets or gundam though coz i'm not into those type of things.

Planning my trip to Hokkaido for Snow Festival. Considering 2 domestic flights. 1 - AirDo from Haneda to Chitose. 2 - AirAsia/JetStar from Narita to Chitose. AirDo price RM800 is double AA or Jetstar but convenient at Haneda. Transit from Tokyo to Narita is about RM100.
*
If AA & Jetstar cheaper by half, then why not take AA/Jestar leh?

From tokyo to narita got train also what.... can take this:

Keisei Limited Express/Access Tokkyu trains to Nippori/Ueno, 60-80 minutes, ¥1,000-1,200 (Access Tokkyu trains also serve some subway stations)

Not sure if it's still ¥1,000 or not but last year when i went to japan in sept, still the same price.

Dun have la, U also stay there before for many yrs what.

QUOTE(sunakujiro^^ @ Jun 23 2012, 05:32 AM)
Flight ticket already secured with very cheap deal. As for accoumodation, I will be couchsurfing from house to house, or love hotel or camping.

trying to use 5000Yen/day to its full potential. How many yen did you spend for a day?
*
That's great.

I dunn really keep track on how much I used per day because for me travelling is not about being stingy but to experience what the country has to offer. But can say, i bring over 100k yen for a week's trip and usually have about 30k-50kyen left when i'm back home.
