engtat, u use AA or MAS?
me go on august and will stop at osaka air port.
still figuring which hotel to take.
if u could share your itinerary for reference will help me sort out some queries.

haha. me oso 10d9n. in between will join APPLE ground trip and free and easy for first 2days and last 3days.
*
August....Japan hottest season....hell gate ...plus Japan shutting down Nuclear plant in progress.....don't expecting will aircorn in Hotel 24 hour.
Everywhere will power shortage. Including trains. During Power Shortage period...the Train service will be out of Service for few hour until the Cycle to other section. ( Example Tokyo seperate into 4 section : North , East , South , West. each Section will be out of power 6 hour. )

In Summer Japan are electrical usage highest peak time...due to shutting down nuclear plant Fukushima and Shizouka ....there will not enough power to supply to demand. Whole Japan will be into this situation.

Sure it will effect the journey...even affect millions of Japanese. last year after quake...Japan starter this method of control power......really Sux to maximum.

Like my destination are Shinjuku ( west side of Tokyo) When West side is down for 6 hour...ttally no train to Shinjuku , Harajuku , Ikebukuro etc etc....... When North Turn....no train can go ueno ...Nikko...etc etc...Nikko down....totally effect thousand of tourist.

Buses and taxi profit to maximum. My suggestion are...Study the Bus route !!!! You really needed

Whole Summer .....when going Autumn...temp start drop..ppl won't used so much of fans or aircon...then electricity demand drop....supply enough then no more cutting power.

any recommended site to study bus route?

1 Q here, how long for bus from shinjuru to osaka if worst case come (no shinkansen)

This you have to do the homework.

Don't forget bring hat , lotion (Anti UV) , Drinks alot of water. temp are avg 40 - 44 C even at Night also 34 - 38C. Malaysia noon hottest are 38C ....this is same temperature as Japan night time. 38C

is above site u mentioned previously?

thx
*
This website are so - so only...it didn't show your any route.

This is the Best i can give you...if want more...You have to pay me...i won't give free Info. Do your own homework more

Everyone here know my style. brows.gif

Toei Company Bus Route

Tokyo got other company Buses too ...not only Toei

Those who are going Japan at August , Sept please take this seriously...Train surely will out of operation period to period...bus are the best option left.
If you try Visit Osaka , Kobe , Kyoto Bus are more better than Train...so study on bus are more important.
Tokyo also suffer electrical shortage...train will also out of service time to time. Bus is only left unless u damm rich to take taxi everywhere.

Those want travel from Osaka to Tokyo or vice versa...Shinkansen might out of service too due to electrical shortage...Bus is only option left....study on it if needed

Hi all, I'm heading Tokyo this Sunday.
My problem is my gf and me are not sure what clothes to bring.
Any1 at Tokyo right now can tell me which types of clothes are suitable?

Also we plan to head to Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku in 1 day, will this gonna be too rush ?

I edit this to comment on the Visa application.
Saw lot of post regarding how much in your saving acct.
My friend only got about 3.5k in her saving and lot of in-out transaction. She still got her visa approved.
She is an insurance agent some more which means income not steady as employee.

For my case, I got 2 savings acct. 1 is about 3k and the other about 1.5k.
Then just before a week that I tender my application, I pump in another (total)6k into these 2 accts and still got my visa.

I think they lower their requirement liao bcoz of radiation.
*
First no such thing are lower the requitment. Because your friend going with you. If alone sure rejected. Because u pump to 6k plus your friend 3.5k. You just lucky.

Tokyo now same temp as Malaysia already. So wear same as Malaysia. Plus Tokyo now raining season. Don't forget bring umbrella before going out.

1 day 3 shopping district....too rush

Dunno how to pack for next week's trip. Night will be below 20 Celcius? :s

just came back from Tokyo this morning.. the weather is quite unrelenting.. been raining very often... the worst was yesterday.. been raining the whole day zzzzzz.. went to yokohama but can't do much.
but overall japan is a great place to visit. exceeds my expectations for many aspects.
btw while i'm there Uniqlo were having sales for their UT series. i got myself  quite a number of Metal Gear Solid tees for 990 yen each. quite  a bargain i would say.
*
Normal price are 1,500 Yen...you get at 9,90 Yen ..great bargain. You should go Uniqlo Harajuku. Most unique Uniqlo shop...It only sold UT only. and whole Uniqlo are vending machine.

I'm going next week.
Planning to visit Kansai in 2014, after USS opens its Harry Potter attraction first! haha
@Human Nature : Just a tip for you, before you choose between Disneysea or Disneyland, check the rides closure dates, if too many rides are closed for one theme park you might as well choose the other one so your money spent will be worth it! Also some days they close at 6pm, pick the date where they close at 10pm! lol
So far my itinerary
Day 1: Tsukiji, Ginza, Imperial Palace (touch-n-go), Shinjuku (Kabukicho)
Day 2: Asakusa Sensoji area, Akihabara, Odaiba
Day 3: Yokohama (Yamate, Harbor View Park, Chinatown, Yamashita Park, Osanbashi Pier, Minato Mirai)
Day 4: Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, Shibuya (+Tokyo Tower+Roppongi if possible)
Day 5: Disneysea
Day 6: Hakone
Day 7: Shinjuku (metropolitan area)
I skipped: Ueno Park & zoo, Ikebukuro, Roppongi (most probably), Kamakura, Nikko, Kawagoe, Tokyo Dome, Disneyland, Studio Ghibli, some notable museums, aquarium, stadiums, ramen museum in Yokohama, lots of nice parks, and a free 2-hours tour of Imperial Palace
*
Going next week? now Raining season...you might even need skip more too....

Tokyo:
Will be Snowing + Icing on Road....if no Snowing will be raning.....expected very strong chill wind. (This is what so far I experience on 2012 Jan)
2013 Jan unknown tongue.gif tongue.gif
