Yes it is untapped. At the moment the only thing available is retro converted to EV. But CN is probably the first to make a completely inspired by vehicle in EV form without reusing old chassis. I think the first we ever came about this with a new chassis and retro inspired design is the Hyundai N75. But this BYD seems production ready with pricing. ![]() https://carnewschina.com/2023/06/20/byd-mad...reets-in-china/ babisotong liked this post

QUOTE(68 others @ May 17 2024, 07:10 AM) Mitsuoka did it only with ICE. Last 15 years Retro restore mod/ convert ICE famous cars like Lancia Delta. Then came resto convert EV phase around 10 years ago. Mostly transplanting TESLA guts into another car. Now BYD makes EV retro inspired without using original chassis. The bottom chassis/ battery could be a BYD Dolphin judging by the naming scheme. RalphRatedR, babisotong, and 1 other liked this post

QUOTE(anakkk @ May 17 2024, 03:22 PM) USA have a lot of nice legacy car designs. And if they decide to market it in USA it would be easier to recognize the design.Which is why Hyundai tried it with N75 prototype. Which is delorean inspired. Which company failed? Mitsuoka tried it with British inspired Ryuga. But it dit not work out. This post has been edited by netmatrix: May 17 2024, 03:48 PM |

QUOTE(TruboXL @ May 17 2024, 03:52 PM) Not likely. Look at the pricing. It's premium. Even retro conversation is more expensive than buying modern car. RalphRatedR liked this post

QUOTE(lordgamer3 @ May 17 2024, 03:54 PM) Byd is probably the only CN company that can pass euro ANCAP and match any euro brand in build quality. They purchased the right euro company like Volvo to transfer tech know how to their car making business. |

I wonder how are the safety of old designed cars.
They were designed according to decades old safety regulations. |
