For security reason, not recommend to use Teamviewer or Anydesk kind of application. Suggest you to setup VPN if your router have the feature ready. It would be far more secure.

1. Setup DDNS on router
2. Setup VPN on router
3. Install VPN client
4. Connect and you can use Remote Desktop to remote to home/office computer

Nowadays, mostly corporate ban Teamviewer or Anydesk kind of remote desktop application already on the corporate firewall.

I have setup RustDesk server and host it on my own in my Proxmox VE server. Both are Open Source. And Yes, it have file sharing capabilities plus Clipboard function too.

Been using it for more than 1 year and everything works great. Fast, encrypted, robust & stable.

There is a "PAID" version of RustDesk where you will have additional features like "Address Book", the Open Source version doesn't have this features but if you don't have much computers to remote-in then just use a normal Excel file will do the job.

Even if you pay them, the price is relatively very cheap compared to TeamViewer, AnyDesk etc.

Check this video on how to install your own RustDesk Server (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3ad7EOQ45Y)

Hope this helps... cool2.gif

I’ve been using Chrome Remote Desktop for a while now. It’s super easy to set up, and while it doesn’t have all the advanced features that TeamViewer used to offer, it’s been solid for basic remote access. One thing I like is that it does allow file transfer, which Quick Assist doesn’t. It’s free too, so if you just need something simple, it might be worth checking out.
