Many of the threads here is asking about pre-employment things like pay, benefits, culture, and doing due diligence before joining a company.

I specifically want to ask regarding post hiring.
After successfully hired into your current job, how are things down the line 3/6 months later as a new hire?

1. Did the job match your expectation before joining?
2. How accurate are the reviews of glassdoor matching your own experience in the new job?
3. Is your onboarding smooth? Did they guide or train you?
4. Anyone whose job / environment does not turn out as expected / mismatched, what did you do? Are you jumping ship again?

As for me, I am in consulting line. There are 2 things concerning me right now.

1. 4 months after joining, my company is now getting bought by another PE. I was worried about getting the axe, there's a lot of uncertainty and anxious feeling now.
2. Initially they sent me for training but after that I was getting benched for almost 3 months now. Asked manager but they told me assignments will come soon. I dont know what to do.

If got free time at work and scared to be fired, go build network, improve skills and look for new jobs

Don't just sit on your ass wait to be VSS

Anyway, few jobs I had mostly got some form of training. Of course got some weird things they didn't mention in interview all these but not super deal breaker.

Glassdoor review seems quite accurate

My time no Glassdoor… we buta buta go in, slog like hell and hope neither patient nor the attending house officer dies. Job scope was poorly defined, and we had to learn the rope on the fly.

Can’t believe no one died unnecessarily or needlessly under our watch.

1. Matched 60%, the hiring manager made empty promises that didn't realize in 6 months.
Brought them up to discuss but kept postponing and giving excuses. Worst angmo boss I have in my career.

2. Very accurate on glassdoor, I used it a lot. However, use it with cautious because in the end it depends on the department you join and colleagues you have.

3. Yes, boss in his 60s. Kept on giving lectures to everyone in the team.

4. If there are better opportunities, just go for it. No one is stopping you.

Current company I joined promised me an entire host of benefits. End up when I joined, I only get like 30% of what I was promised. When confronted the managers and HR, they twist around saying "this benefit is only if you are promoted to this position // if you are in that dept // etc."

I was definitely pissed. No pointgoing elsewhere I've been here for about 8mths now.
