Hi, wanna ask about those low power (100-150) reading glasses. Currently I'm using those from Daiso for reading small prints documents.
Just wondering if those cheap glasses with frame under promotions by shops (RM48/68/88 etc.) will provide a better and more comfortable glasses than those from Daiso? Or any specific type of lens that I need to consider for reading glasses?
Thanks

Those Daiso ones are really meant to be temporary solution eg you are traveling, then forgot to bring your reading glasses
The ones from optician (even cheap ones) will definitely be much better, as they are customised for your face / eyesight

it's cheaper due to cheaper frame, and plastic lens...

Get glass ones. They're extremely hard to find nowadays. They're SUPER DUPER CLEAR. Only 2-3 local sellers and 1 Indon seller. The plastic frames from local sellers are SOLID. The Indon seller's frame is not so solid but confirmed real glass too.

Custom made better. Each eye usually different power & astig
Daiso (or those ready made one) both eyes same power & no astig. So not balanced & not visual comfortable if prolong use.

Might have issues in the long run.

My dad bought a pair from Daiso...very uncomfy to read. Went to Focus Point, got eyes tested and made a decent pair, glass not plastic lenses...very comfy reading now.

QUOTE(renodiy @ Oct 25 2024, 05:35 AM) is there a major difference using glass vs plastic? You can test in shop to feel if it works. Not finding the best, but if it works then just for around RM20 can buy 1.
