I notice that the model of Asus AMD Vivobook RAM have 2 different RAM SPECS. 1 is SO DIMM DDR4 and is DDR5 SO DIMM Ram.
Can you give me some useful information.

DDR4 is slightly older technology compared to DDR5, hence the number... duh.... tongue.gif

I would suggest to go for DDR5, since its a newer technology and faster in terms of speed. Furthermore, using DDR5 will somewhat ensure you are future proof in the event that DDR4 becomes obsolete, just like DDR3.

Hope this helps... cool2.gif

Why not you google Laptop name, example like mine is Vivobook X505Z ram upgrade. Website like Crucial can give quite accurate detail. Like how many slot available for upgrade & max capacity.

or

download CPU Z & look for yourself biggrin.gif

I know, current laptop only got 1 slot. The built in RAM is DDR5, then you have to add DDR5 ram into the slot.

Yupe, that's the point... I believe going for DDR5 will future proof the laptop. But I suggest that you try with the existing RAM capacity first before upgrading, the system feels slow or laggy then only you decide whether to upgrade the RAM or not.

Sooner or later DDR4 will become obsolete.
