I notice that the model of Asus AMD Vivobook RAM have 2 different RAM SPECS. 1 is SO DIMM DDR4 and is DDR5 SO DIMM Ram.
Can you give me some useful information.
Asus Vivobook AMD 15x (M3504), Ram DDR4 or DDR5?

QUOTE(kongmingdao @ May 9 2024, 06:23 PM) I notice that the model of Asus AMD Vivobook RAM have 2 different RAM SPECS. 1 is SO DIMM DDR4 and is DDR5 SO DIMM Ram. DDR4 is slightly older technology compared to DDR5, hence the number... duh.... Can you give me some useful information. I would suggest to go for DDR5, since its a newer technology and faster in terms of speed. Furthermore, using DDR5 will somewhat ensure you are future proof in the event that DDR4 becomes obsolete, just like DDR3. Hope this helps... |

Why not you google Laptop name, example like mine is Vivobook X505Z ram upgrade. Website like Crucial can give quite accurate detail. Like how many slot available for upgrade & max capacity.
or download CPU Z & look for yourself |

I believe going for DDR5 will future proof the laptop. But I suggest that you try with the existing RAM capacity first before upgrading, the system feels slow or laggy then only you decide whether to upgrade the RAM or not.Sooner or later DDR4 will become obsolete. Hope this helps... |
