10k restoration is nothing compared to the road tax + insurance that she gonna pay every year.

ya .absolutely worth it. 3.0 + a manual transmission best of the world where can u find it these days. hailat latest only 2.4 has manual transmission.
my friend has an isuzu trooper 2.8 first gen.
abandon for more than 5 years with no intention to repair it anymore. many parts need to be replaced.
the level of repair should be way more than this land cruiser.
toyota is more rugged than isuzu.

Well insurance for a 33 year old car is nothing when its just 3rd party
Road tax rm1600 but depends if you actually pay

only recently i knew that for these cars...u can claim your car is a classic cars
and enjoy way cheaper roadtax as oppose to using/paying the normal rate

25 years old = classic car
50 years old = vintage car

as for how much, i'm not sure but it's a different rate

There are terms to meet, like need to have 90% original parts fitted, cannot simply modify. If cannot comply cannot get also.

"Enjin asal, casis asal, rekabentuk badan asal (tidak
diubahsuai), sistem trasmisi asal, sistem suspensi
asal, gandar depan dan belakang asal, nombor
pendaftaran dan ‘Rim' serta ‘Steering' asal (bukan
jenis ‘sport')"

you definitely need a Land cruiser or any offroad vehicles to withstand Sabah roads.

Try driving your lowered Civic in Sabah and see how it goes.

my folks have this car

they love it but from my pov its a bunch of headaches.

interior bits are falling off left and right, parts are not easy to find nor cheap.

that's the price of classic cars i guess.
