I have a similar jump in cholesterol in a year. Difficult to explain why jumped, I was shocked. Maybe too much red meat or weight gain or both.I am now on statins but they cause side effects... Insomnia and muscle pain. They are also expensive and eat up your insurance.
Will stay on them for a couple of months. Needs to have another blood test in a month then talk to the doc about coming off them.
Lose some weight by reducing carbs. Clean up your diet and life a little. 6+ in cholesterol is not good long term your arteries will be clogged and all kinds of risks then.
