My PBE account shows inactive/ dormant.
Called customer service.

Ask so many questions
IC number
Where open account
How many accounts
Lastly say need to go to bank branch.
Damn this person bodo or what, ask so many questions for what if she know she's useless.

TLDR, paid car loan 1 year ago, always pay a big amount so no need waste time always pay. Now account inactive.
Anyway to settle this dormant account without going to branch?
Tried transfer to this account, but fails.

Or any way can pay car loan from a different bank directly to PBE loan account?

go to the branch to settle this lar
Bank need to verify u still alive and scare yr account being used by others

ah PBE damn mafan. If you dont remember the branch you open your account, they wont entertain you. check back if you have any detail or else you need to visit the branch physically

First few question should be is to validate if the bank person is talking to the account owner, not any 3rd party.

No other way.
U need to visit bank counter physically.

1 thing about calling CS, they HAD to make sure it's you YOU
hence why they ask so many question

thn dormant account all have to go bank to reactivate...u need to make a small deposit of at least RM10 anyway

U can pay PBE hire purchase loan from other bank using Funds transfer lar, but u need to know the note number, ( i am doing this.., dont have any form of PB saving/fund account with them)

Same thing happened to me during MCO 6-mth loan moratorium. 3 mth didn't pay loan therefore didn't transfer to savings/current account. 4th month want to transfer, cannot, account already dormant. RM10 to reactivate so I let it be and just transfer straight to loan account.

how i know....bcause i manage my pass away mother few bank account

lucky me manage to clear that account b4 it happen or else gonna be headache

Not sure about others but if you want to close a PBB account, you must do it at the branch it was opened.

Yes u can settle this by opening a new one acc online and ditch the old one, oh wai

had to go branch which u open account
get verified by branch manager

if ur lucky , ur money still there

if not it will be go tabung haji.

If you know the branch manager or someone senior, you can request for the branch manager to visit your mum at home

They can do the verification directly there

That’s what happened to grandpa , bedridden at home, and branch manager come to our home to get it verify

And, my grandpa account don’t have millions

Just few thousand ringgit

Not just PB, other bank or sometimes telco also same thing.. after so much verification waste time

Sometimes we call for parents, and have to pass to them for verification, explain to them how to answer and all

Any branch can? Or only at branch that you open? Quite trouble as bank opening hours 9:30 to 4pm only and not open weekends.

Good, I kept rm100 in PBB acc last time. Thought just log in pbe online can keep active. Manatau become dormant. If want maintain, need to deposit and withdraw at least once a year.

ya, damn mafan. I wanted to cancel dunno what account, then they don't let me cancel my account coz my signature don't match.
Eh hello? That signature I did was back in the early 2000's oi. Fast forward 20 years later, of course my signature would have changed, if not slightly.
I only managed to cancel my account coz got 1 unker staff there saw my face getting more and more tulan with the CS amoi there coz she keep insisting i sign exactly as how i signed 20 years ago, then ask for my IC, how many accounts i have with them, what loans i took with them and the type of loan and duration, etc etc. That unker just asked for my IC then see my signature... then he let me cancel my account

Then the same thing happened to my sister. She also wanted to close her PBB account coz she migrating overseas. Then they start playing "21 questions" with her. She bohsong dy so she said forget it. So she slowly withdraw until left the minimum balance in the account and let the account go dormant
