Water meter run so fast, even though all faucet is closed, switch from meter to tangki is off. No obvious watermark or leakage is seen, suspect leakage underground. Looking for plumber verified from SPAN now.

- Are those plumbers recommend from SPAN reliable?
- How to detect leakage underground?

Digging is susah after meter part if ada mosaic and so on, usually install new piping after meter all the way back to your house , water tank and so on if your internal house have no leaking

if the leak is between meter and tangki, then just do bypass using polypipe

Yeah. I think no point digging up to find and do localised repair of the leaking point as the whole piping network probably cannot be used anymore. Repair this and a new leak might appear soon.

SPAN Plumber I dont know. But I can answer how to detect underground leakage. It's pretty easy:
Identify and plug off the water main from underground to ground level (mean isolate the underground part), perform a simple hydrostatic pressure test.
You want to resolve underground leakage fast, it does erode the earth below your floor.

Anyway that a plumber can check where is the leakage? Those plumbers i called straight suggested me do reroute, bypass underground piping from meter to tangki. At least come to check right which part exactly is leaking, perhaps it is in the wall? hmm.gif

yes, all plumbers are like that, take shortcut; only you got time can investigate yourself to find the leak;

I'm facing the same issue. Want to resolve the leak instead of bypass. If I bypass, I need to make 3 since they split underground.

To tangki
To kitchen sink
To washing machine

That's potentially a lot of ugly above ground poly pipe and hacking...

But it's not shortcut

It's for future also

If you leak one place means more leak coming

Sometimes no choice.

Plumbers are unlikely going to investigate where the leak is. And you'd end up hacking up all your tiles. Sometimes you can't find the same tiles, especially if they are developer provided. Besides, once it's leaking somewhere, you'd probably get more leaks else where as well.

How old is the house? Do you know what piping is being used?

You ground sinking thus the pipe "burst". Check with your neighbor, i experienced this few years back. That time my house also about 10 years old. When ask around 7 out of 10 house around me same issue. Logically it's the combination of material used and ground sinking/shifted.

All plumber telling u to reroute not because want scam u. It's the correct and most efficient thing to do. Dun so particular about aesthetic la, nowadays i damn scared of hacking the wall/floor. Each time i do it many other issue will come out in the house.

Didn't get any quotations for bypass, don't want to surrender just yet.

Still looking for someone willing to investigate and fix.

Those plumbers should have a listening stick that can pinpoint the location of underground leakages. I guess its just too troublesome for them

I don't think my neighbors knew it until they got the shock bill. Many of them is tenants. So you resolved your problem by reroute/bypass it to meter & kitchen?

Lol. Why would you want to find out where the leak underground is? IMO it will be more costlier to repair underground than repiping externally..
