Anyone use apps to rent a car like SOCAR / TREVO before?

Good or bad experience?

U want user or car owner that work with them ?

I want to rent

Used SOCAR several times, both in Semenanjung & KK Sabah.

Pretty good. Just need to plan ur journey well & buy mileage accordingly.

For socar arrive early. App likes to glitch

My last experience with them, cannot return the car the app wasnt functioning. And cannot unlock the car thru the app as the car bluetooth transmitter to talk with the socar app rosak

I don't know about Trevo but DO NOT USE SOCAR

Both my friend and I, never receive a refund from them.

Said what pump petrol and snap a photo of the receipt to claim back the money, no never pays you back!

Upon returning the car, both our app, android and iOS also cannot return and lock the car, hence overcharge us!

Called their CS for more than 30 times, no one answers the call.

Just go to google map and search "SOCAR Mobility Malaysia", click review and you must sort to "newest". Look at the latest reviews of socar, and re-evaluate yourself.

For SoCar better you top up to most expensive insurance.
Else fork out 24 hours x peak period rate x 3 days when get into accident, minor --> major.

TREVO, same daughter company of SoCar, but Car is from public who wants to earn side income.
Gotten a SAGA aircond panas af.

I think last time got ktard say the car smell of smoke when received then they got charged for the cleaning instead.

per <6 hours = socar.
per >24 hours = trevo.

i dislike socar coz it has such big ads on the car...

Trevo worth it if u use voucher and seems like they always have it.

So far my experience with SOCAR has been quite positive. Get reimbursed for refuel and car wash and charged a little extra for exceeding my purchased mileage.

Rented a Corolla Cross in Feb. It was an ok drive but I found it surprisingly cramped for such a large vehicle. Aircon was freezingly cold which I really appreciated.

Hi guys... I got few question about this socar

Say the damage waiver I opt premium 2.73 means anything happen I maximum to pay rm400?


This socar charge based on hour & mileage right?
Say I rent 8hr, I didn't choose the mileage package, I run 20km, they will charge my mileage rm5 like this?

I don’t use apps like SOCAR or TREVO much because I prefer renting directly from companies where I know the car will be in good condition and the process is straightforward.

During a trip to Miami, I found https://realcar.miami/ and had a great experience. They had cars available even last minute, and they delivered the car to me, which made things easy. The car was practically new and super clean, perfect for our family trip out of town. My kids loved the ride, and everything went smoothly without any stress. I'd better recommend looking for companies for car hire instead of apps. It is more accurate.

i use trevo before so far good, nearby owner. the only bad things is some charges delivery the car and send back

yes, bad experience with getting any kind of reimbursement from them, once your ride/rental is completed, you cant really get hold of them using the app. (u can engage them anytime thru the app while your booking is ongoing).
Good luck contacting the CS with email or sort. I've have an approved claim since 2022, until today, nothing.

which company you rent from usually??
