I have both 1HP and 1.5HP Hisense portable AC for my tenant. 1.5 for the master bedroom, 1HP for the smaller room.

No problem at all, they say cold even at 26. Just route the exhaust pipe out the windows, you'll need the windows seal cloth like this below (look for cheapest one)

only get those portable aircond with two big hoses or one big hose with center divider to make the airflow into two (one in one out). But very rare to see this type in malaysia

mostly in malaysian market is the single big hose out, and don't get this as it's very inefficient ad it keeps sucking fresh air from outside of the room into the room since the big hose at the back kept blowing room air out of the room. And it's not that cold

depend on model, some have a hose inside the exhaust for you to let the water drip out.

newer one says the water will be evaporated out with exhaust air, and got a small catch tank that you can empty every few days if it becomes full.

I had an old one that have hose, after that broke I bought another one that dont have hose.

portable AC are not as efficient as split or old window unit. Thus not cold and uses more electricity. portable AC dissipate heat by expelling hot air out of the room, thus creating a negetive pressure and lead to drawing in air from under the door, window gaps, etc. Air that are drawn in tend to be warmer and thus they end up having to cool that air too.

hahaha i totally understand, was so scared when I wanted to give my tenant AC because of the crazy weather but dont want to drill my wall..

but yeah just buy that cloth and you're good biggrin.gif

thing to note is don't put the AC too close to the wall since it sucks in air to cool them, don't choke it then 26 oso sejuk

Seriously use too much energy. For temporary solution okay, but for semi permanent solution - a big no no whistling.gif
