Throttle House do good work (their Lexus LFA review is a fun watch), even if they are a bit hyperbolic (watch savagegeese reviews if you prefer realist skepticism) and sometimes try too hard (and usually fail) to replicate the old Top Gear goofiness a bit too much.
No idea how they managed to get permission to take the Land Cruiser outside Toyota’s designated review route when most of the established US motoring press could not, but good on them for doing so. Enjoyed the review, and honestly them crashing it, and the way they framed it with the whole "Land Cruiser somehow does its thing and brings you back home", is probably the best PR Toyota could have hoped for. Favourite bit was 32:10 - 32:20. Yeah, suck it, Brits!!
Still needs to prove itself on Malaysian roads though. Nothing beats our potholes. Your car can do 50k miles of Nurburgring testing and will still koyak here within a month, but if anything can survive our shithole infra, it’s a Land Cruiser.
Too bad only the US models will be getting that “torque-filling” hybrid turbo powerplant. RoW seems to be getting diesel or NA petrol variants. Boo!!
