Hi all, I need technical support here.
Recently i purchase Unifi 5g which comes with ZTE MC8020 modem and I notice the torrent speed is extremely low (~1kbps). Previously i am using Unifi fibre line 100Mbps without issue during torrent and after moving to new location with Unifi Air 5g, torrenting seems impossible.
Is there any workaround to enable torrenting?
Few things I have done: 1. change to google DNS 8.8.8.8 and etc but this is not working. 2. tried free VPN but it totally disable torrenting.
Are there any other method? Thanks.

generally, torrenting isnt allowed on these 5g plans, the fiber plans are what you want
or use a better vpn changing dns is useless in this situation

From my Unifi Air 4G experience, no longer allowed . Started recently, maybe 2 months ago. Use VPN if you want. Last time 4G speed was also uncapped (although supposed to be 20mbps package) , now strictly by the rules.
I have already terminated Unifi Air
As for 5G you make your own conclusions.

I just move to new location and renting the place for 1 years or so. That's why cannot simply change to fibre optic...

I dont wish to use or subscribe to any vpn service. So, I just use seedbox.

QUOTE(klch87 @ Apr 15 2024, 08:14 PM) Hi there. What is seedbox? Can you describe to me? Thanks. TL:DR: Its basically a remote computer that downloads and seeds the torrent on your behalf. Usually you can self-host (kinda technical for newbie) or you can subscribe to any provider. It does provide you with basic ssh access, ability to download the files to your local storage, etc.

your best solution is a seedbox...don't waste your time on researching or choosing VPN, go straight to the source/option that will work both ways 100%

That means i can only download something less than 2gb at one time. anything more than 2gb cannot be used in seedbox. Is there a way to increase the storage size? Or am i doing the wrong way? This is my first time using seedbox.

QUOTE(klch87 @ Apr 15 2024, 07:48 PM) ok then. which VPN is preferred? I personally tried surfshark and windscribe works fine for torrent, you can go shopee search "vpn" and buy those cheap shared account to test which one is the best for you, after than only go subscribe own personal account yourself

This is my first time using seedbox. the last time i use seedbox(many years ago), the storage is pretty big though....not sure now and not sure why now left 2GB(are u using free ones?) but why i say it works both way is because not only the server download your files at full speed....a speed that you could never reach...the files downloaded to your computer will also be full speed(as fast as your line can go) and it works 100% as compared to trying to guess which VPN works and which is not and speed also varies This post has been edited by MR_alien: Apr 15 2024, 09:34 PM

This is my first time using seedbox. I am using Noob package/plan from Blazeshosting for RM10/month. Decent 100GB storage. Planning to subscribe to their VPS box for some testing and coding stuff. Well TS says because they are renting/moving so unable to be tied to a 2 year contract 5G is good because cheaper + portable But yeah, no torrents, it's a limitation

Try and read into r/seedboxes, get a seed box from the recommendation there and download via 5G modified for unlimited bandwidth
Personally recommend going to Hetzner auction server and set it up with Swizzin (1GB uncapped port and at least 4TB of storage on Hetzner)
A bit more complicated to setup but you have more control over what you can do.
If not, find any seedboxes based in NL if possible, downside is NL peering to MY ISP might be a bit shitty

However, i can cancel the subscription anytime i want?I am not their advocate to promote them neither do have any affiliation with them. It fits my use case. I pick 1 month plan first to give a try. However, RM10 is per month ya, annually would cost you RM120. As for the bolded part, bad news for you and refer here. I prefer to pay monthly than a year.
