Doesn't look like they use any heatpipes.
Without heatpipes, I doubt they can perform well, definitely not as good as something with similar built e.g. zalman coolers...

those who spend so much money on extreme cpu will definitely go for 3rd party coolers. the stock cooler just end up in the garage sales.

For me, thats a good marketting strategy actually. Giving people something a lil bit extra and maybe earn more in the other parts..LOL...
Anyway, they would not implement this on the other parts just like what AMD did in the past. They only gave the heatpipe cooler to the Opteron series only...

Ppl who buy extreme procs hav the cash for aftermarket hsf or high end water cooling. the cooler frm intel realli looks far far better than the current stock black one..

new design should better performance, cool down the proc, but what make me wired, did the new 45nm proc produce more heat just coz it clocked at 3.2ghz.. or it just for eye candy...

The spec of this cooler are not stated in the VR-Zone, it is still a riddle whether this cooler can beat third-party cooler

That's a really nice cooler. There's actually quite a lot of ppl who buy the fastest things they can afford n just leave them as it is. Coz they can afford it n cudn be bothered to learn how to OC. So it's quite useful actually.

review by windwithme http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/551941run 4.4ghz q9650 at 29c only by using tt v1 cooler.. i think even use this new cooler it won't touch 40c.. no need to change to after market cooler... This post has been edited by arjuna_mfna: Nov 12 2007, 11:58 AM
