My mom is not using her cuckoo king top anymore, so want to "throw it away". I took it, changed the filter myself, simple plug and play.

Question i have for installation.

1) blue hose is for the main water source into the cuckoo.
2) the orange hose is from cuckoo to sink. Why is it running continuously? Is it for washing the filter?

If yes, how often to i have to wash the filter?

ah okay.. i have the older king top as well.. i think if not mistaken from cuckoo to the tap is supposed to be filtered but room temperature water.. usually at the faucet there supposed to be a valve where you can open or close to the 3 modes

either

filtered water
unfiltered water
or close ( no water coming out)

You mean this? https://pictr.com/image/E3QpV8

If i install this, the blue hose goes into the the top (water into machine) and flow allll the way to the orange hose at the bottom (water out of the machine).

So that fits your explanation.

My question is then, if i put a tap on the orange hose and closed it. Will it over flow in the machine?

it wont overflow. because most of the time it's stay closed, only open when you want to get some room temp filtered water. no issue there.

But it wont stay closed right? The picture i gave is as per you mentioned.

1) if i dont redirect the water, it will be direct from the pipe straight down. Didnt go to the machine and unfiltered.
2) if i redirect the water, it will go to the machine via blue hose and then out to the orange hose, hence filtered room temperature water.

In both cases, if i dont turn on the main pipe, the machine wont have water (in the tank) if i take the cold/hot filtered water from the machine. As such i have to periodically turn on and off the pipe to fill in the tank, right?

My next choice is to install this https://shp.ee/31jwb0x on the orange tap. With this, i can continuously redirect the water to the blue hose into the machine, and separately and independently turn on/off the orange hose, at the same time, water in the tank will not overflow, right?

nope.. no overflow.. basically you wont be able to get room temperature filtered water only and u lose one tap. the water going into the machine wont be affected unless u close the tap.

if you use the faucet in the picture (yes that one or got the upgraded plastic punya) then you just open the tap water and the flow will stop once the machine is full of water. no need open and close.

basically if have no use of room temperature water.. just close up the orange hose if not water will continuously flow out through this hose so bazir water.

if u want to use room temperature water need to use the faucet..

Just change the filter and done.
