Hi, my friend recently rejected an offer but recently changed his mine and accepted the offer a week after rejecting it. He has informed his acceptance to the HR. what are the outcomes in this type of situation as he has rejected the offer in writing to the HR a week ago.

The HR sure already pick another person.... Since already rejected earlier.... They won't wait long....

Sure no offers unless the friend really unique & have expertise others don't have....

if it's still available, the company MIGHT still consider 'your friend'

otherwise, if they have offered to a new candidate, then tough luck

personally, i will not consider someone who switch their decisions back and forth. i rather have someone who have considered their options carefully and go with the decision they have made properly

If HR already awarded it to the next person and the person already signed the contract, then your friend is out of luck. If they are still searching for someone, the excuse better be good otherwise they might be thinking that your friend is fishing for the best deal and is also deemed as a flight risk.

Low probability they will re-offer your friend however if you don't try you will never know. Employer might think you took their offer to shop and were not successful hence you need to spend extra time to convince them why this has happened.

First impression counts and your friend is off to a bad start but assuming he is accepted he can prove himself over time.

No harm in trying, but don't be surprised if "your friend" has a target on his back placed there by HR...

depends on the HR. if job still available and the want your friend then they will accept. basically depends on options available to them.

Either your friend is really capable or the company really desperate. Have not heard of this happening, and surely left a sour taste in the hiring manager...
