Waltz with Bashir.
A truly gripping documentary about genocide campaign.Excellent narrative sequence with a very creative animation style ala A scanner darkly. The ending is truly heartbreaking and makes you ponder the shitty world we are in.

The Brothers Bloom.
A movie in line of Wes Anderson and Spike Jonze.A truly unconventional movie altogether. At first thought it's gonna be like Ocean Eleven kinda movie but suprised of the more quirky and refreshing take to it.Totally mesmerized with Rachel Weiz and Mark Ruffalo performance here. The storyline set-up and how the con being played out is excellent but near the 3rd act it loses focus and a shift to more gritty tone does not gel well with the earlier more playful set-up.Not by any mean a masterpiece but a potential competent film director in the making.Rian Johnson.

Old Boy

Oh boy.

Oh My Goodness, what  a movie!

I'm not sure if I can put into word what I'd experience whilst I was watching the movie!

Here is an attempt to do so, bewilderment, puzzlement, humor, shock, terror, NAUSEA!!!! shocking.gif

I have to hand it to the Koreans for making the MOST SICK movie I have ever had the chance to experience!!!!

Kudos to Min-sik Choi for his role as Dae-su Oh. His physical and mental changes in the movie is MOST palpable!!!!

Will Smith is said play his role in the American version, I DON'T think he can pull it off. I DON'T think the American production is going to be BALLSY enough to STICK to the original material!

My two sens worth! icon_rolleyes.gif

You should try find Chan Woo Park other two revenge movie.Old Boy is the best, but "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance" is equally engrossing.Whereas "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" miss the mark a little but had cameos of all the cast from his Vengeance movies.

The American version suppose to base on manga but it's a little different from movie. As for the revelation is not as poetic as the movie. The manga provide a basis of characters and storyline, somehow the movie did quite a lot of changes that improved over the manga.

Watched Gomorrah, not to be confused with any japanese latex monster flicks. It's a haunting and terrific look at modern day mafia. It's kinda like Sorderberg's Traffic but far more lethal and effective. You won't see any stylized interpretation or handsome actors.Just realistic people telling a bleak tale of life being affected by the plight of crime syndicates known as Cammora.
Statistically they killed more people than Taliban and accumulate enough wealth to rebuild the destroyed twin tower.
