The Count Of Monte Cristo [2002]

i love it when i watched for the 1st time in 2002. recently rewatched it again, not as good as 1st time, but im still enjoyed it..

its nice to watch this kind of movie when u terribly depress, give up of your life, and hoping a chance for revenge.. wonder what ull do, if u given a mountains of fortune. are u going for revenge? or enjoy the fortune in peaceful life?

but lately i watching a lot European Films. so its a bit awkward to watch supposedly French /Spanish character, talking in English..

nevertheless, its good.. 8/10.

watched Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1919) and Nosferatu (1922) during merdeka holiday....had to adjust watching movies with only accompanying orchestra in the background....2 fantastic movies nonetheless... the ending for Dr. Caligari is absolutely amazing!

Gosh, where did you find Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1919) and Nosferatu (1922)??

I've been looking for Nosferatu (1922) forever!!

Interesting note, they are NOT american, they were made in Germany.

Personally, I'm waiting for Metropolis (1927) to be release in BD in it's most entire form on the 16th Nov 2010.

Not sure if there are more then two of us in this forum who understands what we are talking about!! laugh.gif

Les Miserables [1998]

someone recommended it to me here.. its good, and thanks to it  rclxms.gif

on personal view, i think i didnt like the ending.. left me a bit puzzling, why the main antagonist unexpectedly change his heart.. its a good twist, but i cant see why on earth he ****** himself..

7.5/10

Someone, SOMEONE!!!! "IT"!!!!!!????? *Sigh* The THINGS "it" does!! laugh.gif

I think it is clearer if you read the book.

The "antagonist" had a suddenly clear insight of his actions and consequences and could not live with himself for what he had done, therefore....

Someone/it indeed.... smile.gif

Lost in Space (1998)

A sci fi movie based on a Lost in Space (1965) TV Series.

It is not the first time I've watched this, and I still like it.

Not sure if there are many people here that remembers the original series, Star Trek it is NOT. The movie is decent, with decent cast and decent Special Effects, I have always wondered why a second movie was never made.

Sometimes falling in love with a movie when you're a kid can affect your perception of it as an adult. Like Jurassic Park, seen objectively it has big flaws, but it's one of my favourite movies because it was one of my favourite movies when I was a kid.
lol yeah I haven't been posting much.

Last movies watched eh...

Clash of the Titans. Boring

Prince of Persia. Boring.

Iron Man 2. Hey I thought it was passable entertainment. There wasn't a whole lot of progression and after 2 hours you realize not much has actually happened, but I didn't find it boring (largely due to Downey Jr, his charm is slightly on the wane though), the action scenes were pretty good although bogged by too much CGI. It's inferior to the first (which wasnt that good anyway) but it's one of the better movies this year. Needed Jeff Bridges.
So... Mickey Rouke + Whip <> wicked enough for u huh!!!!?! laugh.gif

Bottle Rocket. A very very nice little movie.

Piranha. The old one. Not bad but not too good either. It's got some easy-to-miss but very funny blooper-like scenes, but overall it's just not a good enough Jaws ripoff. I think this and Piranha 2 were the first movies I saw with boobies in it. I was around 6 years old and I still remember watching a scene where this guy uses his videocam to film a girl on a boat and the girl strips in front of the camera. I thought that was in this movie but it's probably in the second. Anyway I want to watch the new one.
*
Arrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!! You MAKE IT SO EASY!!!! laugh.gif

What is the difference between Piranha then and Piranha now????

WAY MORE Silicone!!!! laugh.gif

Short Circuit (1986)

Ah, Steve Guttenberg in his Hey Day (Police Academy, Cocoon and this)

Very hockey 80s (other favs are like Harry and the Hendersons, Neverending Story, Mannequin, Big and Princess Bride which I never got to see until the 90s) movie and by George I still like it!! tongue.gif

About a robotic expert played by Mr Guttenberg, who is developing "killer/army" robots for the well... the army.

Lightning struck robot Number 5, and it became alive!!

Slapstick ensure!! smile.gif

I still marvel at the level of automation they were able to create for the movie.

Ally Sheedy was sweet, and the interaction they were able to get between Number 5 and Ally Sheedy are good.

If you had not seen this and want a "updated" and light version of Frankenstein, I recommend this.

(Note to Quickfire in case it was NOT clear, this DOES NOT suck)

Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers (2008)

Gosh talk about a blast from the pass.

Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Gaia, Ultraman Moebius, Ultraman, Ultra Seven, Ultraman Jack and Ultraman Ace in ONE movie!!

What more can I ask for???

Less sap perhaps

The dialogue, I have forgotten how sappy the dialogue is!!!

I really cannot see how people in really life can use dialogue like THAT!!

What more can one ask for in addition???

Read the below

Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends - The Movie (2009)

Ultraman Tiga, Ultraman Dyna, Ultraman Gaia, Ultraman Moebius, Ultraman, Ultra Seven, Ultraman Jack and Ultraman Ace in ONE movie plus Ultraman Tarou, Ultraman King and Ultraman Zero!!!!!

And then, and then we get to see the planet the Ultraman live in, wah, so shiny one!!!

Who would have thunk, Ultraman and their human representation are so... Jedi!!!!

For people who are nostalgia about the past, please consider!

I just miss someone going RAKSAKSA!!!!! laugh.gif

House of Wax (2005)

Now, I have to be clear, I am NOT a fan of gory and House of Wax is a gory fest!!

There is a highlight in this movie though, Paris Hilton BITES THE DUST!!!

If that is NOT a good reason to watch this movie, I don't know what is!!!!

(Note to Quickfire in case it wasn't clear, this movie is SO SO) nod.gif

Uh, Piranha then is all about "experiment" and Piranha now is all about "prehistoric"

Of course, both also leads to "crunch time" ending  laugh.gif

Sorry, I haven't watched yet, because there were a lot of rumbling about the censorship in this forum.

hey old timer, time is short, stop watching shit n get on with the good stuff. tongue.gif
here are some i would like to recommend you:
-Nicolas Roeg's Don't look now [1973] beside the psychological fright fest that it is, its also has one of the best shot husband/wife fark scene. remember soderbergh's out of sight?
-the innocents [1961]. its available on bluray.
-polanski's other gems like repulsion, knife in the water, cul de sac, the tenant and lastly i've got a feeling you might miss this...chinatown
any recommendation old timer?

Are you talking to me??

Don't want to assume now!!?! smile.gif
