Super high price for the floor tiling, toilet might be ok but also depends on toilet size, tiles size and tile selection which would determine difficulty in installation |

I did my tiling last year. The labour cost was by size. 60cm x 60cm is RM13.50 psf with sand screeding for floor, RM8.50psf without plastering for wall. For cutting 45 degree for the edge, it was RM8 per foot run. Remember to ask what brand and type of cement gum and grout lines for tiling. Weber? Sika? MAPEI? Even for the same brand, there are different grades. This post has been edited by ongss: Apr 18 2024, 12:14 PM bobowyc liked this post

QUOTE(Eternallyus @ Dec 10 2024, 07:29 PM) The labour cost is RM13.50 psf but this rate is for the size of 60x60. Larger size e.g. 120 x 60 cm, the supplier charged higher rate. Usually, larger size is thicker and heavier. |

I was in hurry renovation my house last year even though my contractor charged me high price and i have no choice of it.
Replaced the old tiles with new one, disposal, grouting all in one 1000sqft for RM28k just for labour, and I provide my own Feruni tiles. Then I make a simple survey at Facebook renovation group, actually it can saved up to 50% of the price. |

QUOTE(ehwee @ Dec 14 2024, 11:44 PM) 8.50 psf for wall tile is reasonable, the 13.50 psf for floor seems on high side, is it includes slanting cement screening layer and waterproofing? 13.50 including the sand and cement floor screeding but excluding waterproofing. For tiling on the floor, this has to be done together by the tiling contractor because they need to make sure water flow directions towards the floor traps. I did get three quotations to compare. If the tiling is done purely by local Chinese, the cost was even higher. Mine was done by both local Chinese and Pakistani. The local Chinese marked the floor levels to ensure my sliding doors were levels. For my ensuite bathrooms, there are three levels, shower areas, the dry bathroom (WC, basin, and etc), and then bedroom timber floors. To be honest to you, I am very satisfied with the installer because all jointing parts for the tiling, e.g. door frame, sliding doors, and etc are good. |
